  1. That's exactly the symptoms I had when I blew a turbo on my Punto years back! Hope everyone else is right though. Steve.
  2. John, http://users.sisna.com/ignatius/subaru/mods/index.html More here and some stuff here. Only useful if you fancy braving it yourself though! I've ripped a few cars apart to install stereos over the years and it's nowhere near as scary as you might think. So long as you're careful and make sure you've plenty time (and all the right bits!) before you start, there can be quite a sense of achievement once it's all working and back together - rattle free! Steve.
  3. I've only met him once; he stopped to say hi when I pulled over to let him pass on a back road! I pass his house all the time though. Just for a sneaky peak at the P1 :icon_rendeer: Steve.
  4. My old mans Porker and Violet (my Impreza!) tonight. Was hoping for snow to set the scene, but it rained instead! Steve :icon_rendeer:
  5. That was some armoury in front of your house today! My old man was dribbling - more than normal - as we came past Steve.
  6. You guys are good Thanks Welsho! Steve.
  7. Congrats Kev Steve.
  8. Wasn't me, mine is blue! Just getting that in before 4Hero Steve.
  9. Cheers Gus, that's the answer I wanted! I'll give them a shout to get some idea of costs. Now this Nurburgring idea is in my head I would really like a few mods done in the next few months. Steve.
  10. Well I'm none the wiser, but at least I've had a laugh ya mad bams Steve.
  11. Think it was a blue new age (Dipsy?), but I only got a glance after I figured out who was tooting! I tooted back anyway Steve.
  12. Hi guys, Sorry to hijack the thread, but I have a question about exhausts/cats. There are 2 cats (hawk-eye) for me to lose in order for me to make a visit to Mr F worthwhile. Now I want to keep the car road legal, but get the best out of it. Everywhere I look I see pipes that replace the second cat and pipes that replace the third cat, plus 100 cell cats that seem to fit everywhere! Which cat should I be looking at replacing and which one stays, or do I replace both with 100 cell cats, or do I take a bit of garden hose and ty-wrap it in place?!?!?!?! Granted a couple of bottles of Hoegarden - mmmmmm - are clouding my judgement a little, but I am really confused and would like to start making some tuning plans for early next year. In order to ensure I am completely skint. Over £50 to fill up on V-Power yesterday! Your help, as always, appreciated. Steve.
  13. My Volvo used to tell me when the windscreen washer bottle was empty. My Scoobie doesn't. I know that now! Guess I should actually LOOK at the cap before I fill any of the bottles in future. I could end up with coolant in the brakes next time Thanks for the words of support guys Steve.
  14. I'll say Steve.
  15. I laughed ... if that's a consolation! Steve.
  16. Ahem ... Turns out it WAS empty. I filled up the coolant with screenwash yesterday Sorting it out now! Steve.
  17. As the title states my windscreen washer packed in yesterday - on the way to Glenshee which is one of the most salted roads in Scotland I think! Thankfully it rained/snowed, so I wasn't in too much trouble! I found on the way home that if I pushed the button while going round a right hand bend I got some water out of it. Point is, I just wondered if this is common thing ('06 WRX) and if so is there a fix? I'm, off out to look at it shortly and have a poke about but, as always, your input would be appreciated. Steve.
  18. Spill the beans then! Steve.
  19. I had my Mum on the phone! All quiet now though. Steve
  20. When I was banned it was explained to me that they run a "3 strikes and you're out" system. As in if you're banned 3 times you are banned for life in the UK. There's no time limit where the counter is reset to zero! That's what they told me anyway. Maybe one of the boys in blue could confirm that? Steve.
  21. Nice one Craig. She looks the nuts with those wheels now! Mind you, wagons rock anyway How much hassle is it to adjust the coilovers? I mean if you wanted to run them higher for road use, but drop the car for track, is it a major job? Steve.
  22. I got a 6 month ban years ago from an accumulation of points. Driving a 1.2 Nova, a 1.5 Integra and a 1.8 Mondeo. Never got done in my Punto GT (nippy little machine), so the car doesn't make a difference in my opinon. They can all be driven outside the law! And yeah, having a pompous judge give me one point more than the ban limit (ie 4 instead of 3) just so he could ban me was enough to keep me out of court since. At least on motoring offences! Breast of duck Steve.
  23. If they can do roadside emission checks I think they can do roadside license plate checks. No doubt with an on-the-spot fine. Plus points! I'd be very careful. I just had to get a new front plate and the shop were quite willing to make it up to any size I asked. I'm sticking with the law though, as I don't want to be stopped unnecessarily. Let them stop me for going side-ways with all 4 wheels in the air - fair enough - but not for the sake of a number plate. I'm drivelling now! Steve.
  24. clicky I had hoped to buy these then get them anthracite'd up, but funds won't allow Steve.
  25. To answer my own question big hammer, vice and a STRONG ... cup of coffee! It would appear wagon owners aren't supposed to fit mud flaps. At least not the quality ones. So I am on a mission to do so and do it proper like. Managed to fit up one of the rears tonight, but suddenly realised I could no longer see my tools. It was night time already. Will do the rest tomorrow morning and bore you all with a walk through and pics seeing as it's the 'in' thing Cheers, Steve.
