  1. I'm going to be a bit controversial here, but I actually quite like it....... Ok then....
  2. Yep, as Iain said it's a simple enough DIY job, full details can be found on ScoobyNet. I done mine about 3 weeks ago now and I stuck mine in the oven, 50deg for about 8-9mins or so and that seemed to warm up the sealant pretty good, just keep checking them every couple of mins and you should be fine. Whole job took about 3 hours, but that included fitting HID's and several tea breaks, as well as watching the rugby!! Oh, and it's easier to remove the grille and then take off the white bracket rather than fiddle about with the 2 screws that go into the bracket - you'll see what I mean when you get round to it!
  3. Like it!
  4. There are quite a few out this way mate!! Ellon Autobody always seem to get a great response although I have never had any personal experience of them. The two I have seen are Neil Philip, again in Ellon, as he has done all the mod work on my dads motors - Full kit onto a Mondeo(Inc. cuttting in some Escort Cos bonnet vents) , then spoiler, sills and graphics on his scoob, full bodykit on X-Type Jag and now front and rear bumpers on his XK8, always a great job. I have personally used Kinghorn out in Blackburn a few years ago when someone ran up the side of my CTR in my flat's car park, dented rear quarter panel and scratched door, it was an insurance job and they were right next to my work at the time so was able to just pop round with it. Rear quarter was replaced and door re-sprayed and the work done was flawless, would use them again.
  5. Strewth!! The pictures look a lot worse than the in-car video!
  6. And it's a V-Power day at the BoD Shell on Ellon Road tomorrow (19th) so will get a tankful then. Although I don't know why since I'm off on Thursday to Newcastle with work and the wife will be driving it (probably) in my absence........... .....oh yeah, she filled it with standard unleaded last time, ran like a bag of nails!
  7. Yep, keep her letter and inform your insurance company, I would also have a word with your local police station and your insurance company regarding her making up 2 witnesses in her vehicle as this is indeed fraud. Have heard of this type of situation happening down south where drivers invent other passengers who then have injuries to get a compensation payout, so well worth involving the authorities over this one.
  8. Still shocked over this.... Was always a joy to watch and was the reason for me flicking on to WRC when it was on telly, a true Scottish legend. Thoughts and wishes go to the families involved.
  9. I've always used V-Power or when desperate BP Ultimate - however with a new Tesco out the road I'll be giving that 99 RON a go. Also, I've got a sticker on the inside of my fuel flap that says it should only ever be filled with 98 RON Minimum??

  11. Yep, the one at BoD is tomorrow, I forgot this and filled up this morning at 97.9p/l, D'oh!
  12. Yeah, now looking at HID conversion with the discount set up over in Members Only, 35% is a fair chunk off. Hurrah for SIDC!!!!
  13. Done.
  14. Well chuffed I joined now! Had car into T&C yesterday to get the Prodrive spring kit fitted and had them fit a H&S b/box and centre section, got the whole lot done for less than the standard fully fitted price of the springs! Just need to clean her now and de-tango the front lights this weekend, if I can work up the balls to put my headlights in the oven!!!
  15. Aye, got similar advice from someone else, so it looks like the Black & Decker* will be out tonight to drill a few more holes in the splitter. Cheers for the reply mate. *Other drill manufacturers are available
  16. Last night I quickly put a front splitter that I got from HT Autos, but noticed around the bottom of the bumper that there were a few "knobs" that seem to stick out along the underside. I wasn't able to investigate these fully but it looks like they are poppers to hold the bottom of the bumper onto something?? Is this right?? Is it safe to just remove these poppers to get a flush fit? Anyone fitted a splitter to their WRX and have this issue - what did yo do?? I took a couple of photos of the bits in question, but they aren't that great: Any help is greatly appreciated, don't want to go removing these poppers only for my bumper to come off/something inside to fall out!!
  17. That is pretty wrong like!
  18. About 98/99 my dad decided to get himself a MY98 Jap WRX, remember not long having passed my test and he gives me a shot of it to go down the shops! We take the scenic route home and I'm driving really cautiously as it's a massive car (I'd been used to nothing bigger than a Fiesta or Ka!) and coming down to the by-pass roundabout he goes "Are you going to drive this thing or what??"! So, foot down off the roundabout and away we went! Can still remember the brutal acceleration that that thing had! And now 8 years later I have one of my own!!
  19. Nice! Looks great that does. [Y] Off on Holiday on Monday, when I get back I've got an extra day off work, think I might spend this giving the WRX a good going over, clay bar, wax, engine bay, full bifta! (If I can be bothered!!)
  20. Me too! . o O (Once I get my maps sorted [6], car is more free-revving but not hitting boost targets [:'(]) I would imagine I would turn up also, suppose it would be rude not to since I live in Ellon!! Some stunning motors there mate, WR1 looks minty mint! []
  21. Have to say that's one of the most mental things I've read online in a while! Glad you made it out there ok, as you say the car is metal and can be fixed, much harder to fix a human after a run in with a crowbar. You just don't think that this sort of thing would go on in the middle of the day, but just goes to show the mentality of these scum, hope they get caught and dealt with to the upmost of the law.
  22. Congratulations bud [Y]
  23. The scoob is currently running on F1's, can't fault them one bit and I had them on my Golf before I got rid aswell. It would take a very good tyre to make me get anything else in the future. When I had my CTR it was running the standard Bridgestone Potenza's (RE050 was it?? Cannae mind now) and whilst they were a great dry weather tyre, they made for some interesting moments in the wet![]
  24. Lookin Good bud! [Y] Think that Fordy needs putting down, looks like it's got some yellow infection on the interior [][+o(]
  25. Where is the members area?? I've recently joined, got my pack through last week - is there some secret area that to enter you have to click on a certain word on the main page whilst holding down several keys and with a rolled up trouser leg?! Or am I just being a spud!
