  1. Call me daft but I don't fancy the Sony Stephen, never had one nor heard much good about them in general, no foundation to this just a feeling. The definative question is: is there a phone to substitute the iphone 3GS and if so what is it and where can I get internet, 1000 mins, unlimited texts for less than £40 and not pay a zillion quid for the handset? I'm really fed up with this now and my phone is dying by the second! HELP!!! *EDIT* Orange are dirty bast@rds: looking at upgrading my phone and just looking at different handsets for comparison, they wanted £170 for an HTC Hero, if I'm not logged in, same tariff the phone is FREEEEEEEE! I GIVE UP!!!
  2. After much searching and trying to find a solution I now find I can't justify the iphone or afford it for that matter. The only tariffs that would do the job are pay & go or sim only which means I need to buy the phone up front which is minimum £440. The problem I have now is my current phone is at death's door, my question now is this. Staying with orange, which phone should I go for, which if required I could use for the odd internet access if I had to without costing a fortune or taking a week to load one page? Suggestions please. . . .
  3. Sensible choice mate, it'll probably save you time in the long run too!!
  4. My first reaction is the rear caliper bolts will be smaller. Interesting to see the outcome here.
  5. Better late than never Kenneth . . . . I had those on before I uprated the discs and pads. I couldn't fault them, my PF stuff is certainly no better on individual applications. No more or less dust than any others I've used and I've got to agree with Stephen they've been ok for what I used them for. Hope they are good for you, you'll know on the next Lanark Meet!!
  6. Can't remember and I only had them off about a month ago but the bolts may have a shoulder on them?
  7. Did you get the discs drilled Kenny?
  8. John You should try to get a combustion gas leak test done to be sure. just to rule out any head gasket problem.
  9. Looking good Cathy, and you're use it to post on here too? I have orange broadband, it's £14 quid a month, line rental and all but it's slow a shuch water at times. All really depends if the O2 shops sell these sim only packages over the counter and if i can get an iphone out of the Glasgow Apple Store too!
  10. Cheers Cathy, thanks for the offer. Going on holiday on Monday and it's bursting me I won't have internet access for finding things in the area to do with kids etc. Wanted to upgrade before this to the iphone but it's just not been the right time, till looking at this tariff at least. You'll not have had a bill yet to see if you are being charged for any 'hidden' things, i.e. surfing the web !, maybe you're able to check your account online? I'd hate to make a mistake with this. Could prove very costly! Are you able to use email on it Cathy?
  11. So is that gonna give me web access and email maybe not the visual voicemail whatever that is but essentially I would have all the things a pay monthly customer would have? Am i right, or missing something?
  12. Had a look on Scoobynet at the seat mounting thread. Those motorsport mount kits look good value and would allow the seat mounting position to be set low enough. Not many people showing types of seats though, any more??
  13. Does anyone know if this would work? Sim only : Online simplicity 20 SIM Only Pay Monthly contract - 1200 texts / 600 mins - Includes Unlimited Web Bolt On(free) £19.58 or take unlimited texts and then pay £7.34 for unlimited web? Buy the phone from Apple, use the above, is that really giving you free web access, is that the right thing? Can't be, is it?
  14. Bolt ons back up. No change. Pay as you go phones out of stock and no 16gb versions available.
  15. Yip, the site is changing right now. No bolt ons available! Fingers crossed. Just looking into possibilities of pay as you go, £440 for the phone 16gb, first year internet free, £36.67 per month. Keep my orange phone and I'll have best of both for £70 per month. Cheapest option so far. Updates to follow.
  16. You lot are just trying to wind me up Went back to check. £80 business tariff you don't need to pay for the phone, unlimited texts but only 100 mins? 100! I've seen it take 100 mins to say goodnight to my girlfriend , so that package is still crap! Next one up has everything I want, unlimited everythingness!! It's only £96, that's £2304 over the 24months. Reading on the net, cheapest way to get your iphone story, there is no 'discount' for taking a 24month contract on pay monthly, so for 18 months on the tariff closest to my needs £44 per month, with me making on average 1200 texts per month, the contract total would be £2444 . £3122 for 24 months - HOLY SH!T! Just now, on orange, I have magic numbers, that gives me 6 hours per day(girl's got it too so in effect 12 hours), can't remember my actual mins allowance but I never exceed it. With the unlimited texts I pay £35 per month. Over 24 months that's £840. In effect, on the cheapest for my needs iphone tariff, mobile internet and maybe the spirit level app, cause it's a good one and would be very handy to have, I'd need to pay an extra £61 per month. I don't think so!! While looking through the tariffs it seems the site has changed to include 16gb versions. I'm going to see if there are any changes elsewhere!! I'll be back . . .
  17. I've tried everything and I'm fed up now. No way I can contemplate it with the tariffs on offer. I'd be looking at having to go on the 80 quid tariff for business and pay however much for the phone and it's just not worth it. Waiting . . . .
  18. Just read on the O2 forum that the texts are to return on the 25th July. We'll see . . . . *EDIT* Missread the thing - that's not happening. It seems some customers are still managing to get the unlimited text bolt on by calling customer services. Don't know how true it is though!
  19. Just called, apart from being thicker than mince, they said no more unlimited texts Looking on the web, business certainty gives you unlimited texts but for 80quid a month. Ouch!
  20. I can't see it on the website?? Unlimited text to any network I'm looking for.
  21. So, are we now looking at possible other networks but not the latest hardware or more expense or even only pay as you go?? Been tempted to go to O2 but it's removed unlimited text bolt on from the iphone as far as I can see and the 500 available is nowhere near enough!! Thanks for the quick demo on Thursday Cathy
  22. Defo improvement Cathy, they look really smart
  23. Wasn't me Imy, cars not been out since last Thursday, maybe I'll go check the garage though . . . .
  24. New battery - is it a good one? Have you had the battery checked? It could be faulty. Time to start a process of elimination.
