Reckon we'll drive up to burgh for Friday afternoon then head to Ullapool on Saturday afternoon - anyone traveling up on the Saturday from the burgh area? How long does it take to get to Ullapool?
Matty
6 hours Matty, more in that diesel POS

God sake lol
Tell me about it
-
Is that finished yet?
Nope!

I'm looking forward once again to attending meets and turning my hand to a bit of diesel tuning (Had great results previously with my Ibiza, just ask Baz about Kames).
Still laugh at that pax, hilarious. The way you battered it round the track - but it was nippy.

Hello Lewis? Earth calling Lewis! Yours is in the box you said! FFS.....
-
Yep, for the RA Dave. Better to be safe than sorry IMO.
By keeping it in a box ......
-
Not wanting to point out the blatant Barry but you realise we're in March now, next months April and at the end of that.....
You need to have the car in one piece - stop cutting and get bolting
I read through my 'to do' list on Sunday - where is the Fling in 2014?
-
so you're not running/planning to run a confused one?
Not for now - although I told it that it was a hat, which confused it somewhat
-
Running a std sump Baz?
Aye Lewis, I find it is handy for storing the oil in. It's not standard anyway. It's hand painted. Partly.

nice m8, now time to cut the rest and make a rear diffuser
Rear diffusers don't keep with the look so that's as far as mine will go Craig
-
Great stuff - I'll be following this with interest. You going for a full weld in cage?
-
I turned my attention (and power tools) back to the shell:
My aim has been the same since I started these more serious mods, to save weight, improve performance (within reason) and maintain the look.
To that end, every single area needs to be looked at, assessed and then modified. Time to give the boot, erm the boot! Boot floor to be precise....
Going...
Gone!
I've got the replacement material, have cleaned and painted the cuts for now and will detail it's completion when I get round to it. For the moment any water getting in should be able to get back out
-
Nice one Craig - great base car
Do you have weight/power you are after or are you just going to do what you can and see where you end up?
-
What are you replacing it with ???
Nothing
So, on went the belt and bits as I said
I had a couple more things to do to the gearbox. Cut a redundant bracket from the slave cylinder.
I'll report later on the effects of my hydraulic system mods....
Some tasks on the horizon
Need to protect the sump, redo some exhaust wrap and get the engine off the stand for the flywheel and clutch. Still waiting on the subframes at this point.
Meanwhile.......
-
I then used the time while the parts were away to tidy previous cuts, remove some redundant captive nuts and also fit a new timing belt, pulleys and tensioner. Just humdrum stuff while I waited.
Trying to do all this in a logical order, not do things twice and think everything through to the end takes time. That and researching the effects of any decisions to ensure stuff doesn't end up biting back!
Just some other things to do before the subframes return .....
-
Update time.
Spent some time gathering bits which I wanted to have powder coated. I'm not a painter, no patience - prepared the subframes etc, removed some other bits such as rear ARB mounts, parts of the front top mounts and gathered it all together before delivering to the powder coating peeps. Covanhill Powder Coating just outside Forth.
Whilst awaiting all that being ready I moved onto getting the shell ready for these to be reinstalled. I'm not gonna need the pitch stop any more, nor it's mount, so .....
...and it's gone. Some iffy painting later on to protect it.
More updates soon

What I want to know is why everyone thinks this was down to texting? They crashed because they drove onto the snow and lost control.
Judging by half the t!ts on the road these days they can't even manage to operate a vehicle let alone text as well.
