  14. for future reference for anyone. the noise was caused by the back brake discs worn and not the rear dif, to the guys who got it correct and ta much for all the advise. :kerstsmiley:
  15. i bought 4 of these tyres a few months ago and 3 differences i noticed from my pirellis which were on it, 1) incredible grip in the wet 2) lots of tyre squeal in dry which i never got from pirellis and 3) LOUD tyre noise on motorway. and IMHO i would never run different tyres on my car, especially not a scoob with the speeds these things can go round corners
  16. where is this Hypertech place, sounds like i should be paying them a visit
  17. how easy? take them of and run over with wire brush or replace?
  18. i always thought that about brake wear as well but u never know with these cars.
  19. ok, just checked pads and rear ones are fine, front ones look a bit worn and the brake fluid is in between max and min, could it be front pad issues and ive just picked the sound up from the wrong wheels? hmmmm i wonder i have ebc yellow stuff pads and they had a good thrashing round knockhill among other places and when they are hot they grip like, well a grippy thing......
  20. dont think it will be the pads as replaced them all (front and rear) during the summer time but ill go and check. i dont have ramps to get car up on so will be hard to do myself. probably be looking at new one if price is right.
  21. Please help guys, there is a loud whining/wailing noise coming from the rear of the car when i have been on the motorway for about 10 mins. 1st i thought it was wheel bearing but the noise goes away when i turn the steering wheel any direction and i only hear it on motorway never driving in town. Mechanics said rear dif oil was dirty so they changed that but still no joy, went to bathgate from carnbroe last night and noise happened just as i got through the roadworks at harthill area but i never heard it on the way back. So do u think its rear dif? or something else? if it is dif anyone got any ideas about cost and where to get fixed? also meant to be driving to kent this fri, think its a good idea? thx for any help. ps, car is a 03 wrx with 60k on clock.
  22. i cant believe people are getting over 300 miles from 1 tank, i get about 200-220 mainly driving about town in MY03 wrx sometimes even less. tried a slow drive down south once to try and see how far i could get from a tank, made it to happendon and boredome set in sitting at 70mph, cant remember how far i got on that tank pushing it hard at KH once i got less than 150 miles but was worth every penny of v power.
