  1. Jerry at Dastek to do it or Dunc at hypertech whoever is closest i suppose id avoid ava tbh, they do cossies very well but not so hot wi there scoobs it would seem.

    greig

I work next to AVA (next farm up) and I agree with the above. Never see any Scoobs outside there, just Fast Fords etc. No Jap stuff. Dastek are good, I think they mainly do VW stuff but I could be wrong. Hypertech would be my choice.

  2. I think under the cirumstances, if it were me then it would be an insurance job. Like said above, chips away may be good for some people and crap for other, depends who the rep is. Go to a trusted bodyshop who you know ill make a good job *sneeze cough JB cough sneeze*

  3. Chips away arent the best mate. I used to work at Audi, they have their own spray shop in Hillngton. The sales department used to bring in chips away because it was cheap and nasty, so thy didnt have to pay a bit more for a decent job.

Sometimes they even had to come back, due to it being such a bad job because it was air drying, and not forced heat drying. I had my Impreza resprayed at JB Coachworks, it was expensive but the job looked like it had just came from the factory, I wouldnt trust anyone else.

Remember, its YOUR car mate. Why should you have a 2nd rate job because the girl that HIT YOU, decided she didnt want to stump up the cash for a good job. If thats the case, go through the insurance...

When getting quotes for damage, pick 3 companies your HAPPY with doing the job, and then approach the 3rd party with prices. All GOOD jobs should be priced around the same ballpark figure.

  4. Mate has a Jap Import WRX and is looking for a cable to use his SpeedTracer software, but isnt sure what to buy.

Car is a 95 model, unsure of what specs the car is i.e BHP standard so if anyone can help with where he can get the cable and specs on the car, it would be appreciated!!

  5. Unfortunately accidents come when the driver, feels that has responsibility ends by just looking after themselves. A responsible driver will make a judgement followed by a manoeuvre, taking into consideration all of the open situations around him or her at one time.

Too many drivers see a car as an entity, and not the person inside.

  6. WHY the hell wasnt that released instead of what we have now. They clearly have the ability to design and produce a car like that, so why not rectify the fault theyve made with the car just now and replace it with this!

Oh yeah...please tell me this is true

"This will be the first two-door Impreza from Subaru in almost a decade, not seen since 399 of the first-generation STi Impreza’s were imported as a two-door exclusively for the Australian market - the 400th fell off the boat."

    HAHAHA!!

  7. It depends on what year of classic you have mate. Jun splitters arent the best quality, but you could have it reinforced with some extra fibreglass, which is what I did with a splitter on another car I had and it worked a treat.

  8. Shorter wheelbase car will absorb cornering energy a lot better than a longer wheelbase, although shortening a wheelbase can seriously compromise stability if not calculated precisely for the tyoe of racing the car is being used for e.g track or drag which this car is being used for both

  9. A completely fair point. These guys go out in expensive equipment all the time, and without crashes there would be no lessons learnt but I dont think that every single person on the track driving weekly, are fully competent of handling the performance within the car and that having a lot of money and professional looking vehicle doesnt mean you can drive mate. From the outside it just looks like he may be one of them.

  10. Its all I have to go on, and the videos in the post display bad driving. I understand one of the clips had no brakes, fair point. I really hope this guy can drive, I honestly do because I feel sorry for the people who seem to be getting used as a crash barrier for his incompetence. Thats my take lads!
