yeah that's what mine cost for a 99 you don't have to buy the houseing it sits in which makes it cheaper than earlier models
-
what sort of air filter are you running? mine (99my classic) does this mostly when cold, and gentle throttle is worse, but is there all the time. as you've already done the usual suspects, MAF and Lambda, I would like to know too. I just put it down to a.... feature... quirk.... hope you find the answer soon. nothing worse than a niggle.

Bird droppings - which product to protect the paintwork?
jae replied to oobster's topic in Scottish Scoobies
oobster, the guys on here are much more experienced than I on the old detailing and valeting side of things, but I just wanted to put my 2 pennies worth in too [] I used to valet cars for my local rover dealership and was introduced to autosmart stuff then, I have been using nothing else since, (this is where I will get jumped [] ) I wash my car with *cough* fairy liquid *cough* and polish it with autosmart polish about once every 6 weeks or so. I did my car last night and there was a whopping great streak doing the rear wing delivered from apon high when I started, after I was done not a mark of where it had been and it had sat for 2-3 days with it. I personally would never t-cut a metallic finish, it's just me I suppose, old habits dieing hard. I must admit to quite fancying a bash with a clay bar. Anyway not sure what I am trying to say maybe I think that bird cr*p removal is more in the shampoo than anything else, unless it's a base paint, red, white, some blues.... I am sure I may be wrong [] -
Hey Guys and Gals, been looking at a motor on autotrader from the aforementioned company and was wondering if anyone has had any dealing with them? Also anyone in the trade... looking for a MGF for the misses around the 5-6k mark... Sorry this is in the wrong place should put it in the Off Topic

just for interest, just fitted my ARB (rear) and drop links, supplied by geo, am covered in white grease, but other than that only took an hour to strip and fit, of course reading the instructions [] Just back a wee run, to see if I can notice a difference..... ooooh yesssss (as churchil) would put it, very much so. Just need to get the front sorted out. geo, you may be getting a shout around chrimbo time[]

true gambler, very true. I think there could be someone getting some un wanted attention cause of this, you pays your money you take your chances....
-
[] all going to plan today, firstly the wife phones to say my shiny new ARB and drop links have arrived, many thanks geo, and now my shiney new number plates have turned up. Fitted and looking good [] ..... even though my local constabulary have announced a crackdown on 'dodgy' number plates I think I mught just fly under the radar, as they are non-italics and fairly normal looking [] ...oh and the sun is shining.... happy days to all

got to agree, this being my neck of the woods, he wasn't going all *that* fast and the road was pretty clear, and it's not as if the road is a major route by any means. The road to nowhere... sorry Dunscore []

Hey, there sharpy, welcome to the forum.[] cannae really help out on your questions, where abouts are you from, in the south west?
-
I had wondered, about tightening the rear end up, sometimes get a wee knock from the back (could just be back box), the geometry could that be done by the likes of ATS as there is a distinct lack of tuners here in the south west [:'(]
-
yeah.... I am leaning that way.... spotted one that I like at reasonable money. Any performance/handling upgrades for around the 200-300 quid mark for a bog standard?
-
Quick question, my wife has asked me what I want for my birthday, Tinted windows, Private Plate, what to go for? Have a standard UK Turbo anything else in about the same price bracket? what would you go for?
-
I really would'nt do away with the air filter all together, you always need clean air [] I have a HKS mushroom filter on mine and sometimes I feel the need to put the standard air box on with just an upgraded filter....

87. JAE MY99 UK TURBO 33,000miles -
have just seen the advert on the tv the now, big sparks!! would want that to happen []
-
I feel for you m8, have been thinking about it though and maybe a an easy set up but what I would try would be to :- Get an bonnet switch from a motor and wire that in to the alarm, there should be existing wiring there to tell if someone pops the bonnet, drill a hole and mount it behind the centre piece, but the badge back on and when it is removed the alarm will go off..... I know a very simplistic run down but worth looking at IMHO....

Is'nt it irritating when they are inconsistant with there coverage of the WRC but football knocks everything off the spot!
-
I have seen and have a few issues myself with deposits on sensors causing issues with the old bus my99 Turbo, and was wondering, remember the days when with our carb-ed machines we would pour carb cleaner in the air inlet and it would clean it through, can this be done safely with scoobies? Apologies if this seems a stoopid question [^o)]
-
thanks diffbuster, shall whap in the sparkers and keep fingers crossed the MAF not up the spout. Shall have a nose around local scrappy []
-
This was on the car when I got it 6 months back, but I think I want to try and get a standard air box for it cause every time it's wet, and being in scotland this is fairly frequently, the motor just does'nt run as sweetly as it could. I am convinced it's damp but have new sparkers to go in hopefully at the w/end. I dunno, ahhhh the days of carbs and jets and a whopping big K&N poking through your bonnet []
