  1. well its been a busy few weeks for me with Manx Grand Prix and other work stuff meaning a have not had much time to devote to the scoob as I would have liked but now we are back to normal I can start making progress again I had the day off last Monday so the day was spent mounting the FMIC and cutting the front bumper to accomodate the IC The eagle eyed among you will notice the first major change to the way the car looked Next job is to prep the engine bay for painting

  4. cheers dude will bear that in mind, have to have it painted before the engine can go back in though
  5. A wee update for those who are interested I have spent the last couple of months spending stupid amounts of money imcluding the wife's new kitchen fund on parts and having the car jigged I now have a majority of the parts needed to put it back together, only some bolts and clips to replace missing ones from the front end along with some engine bits While I was working at the Motorshow in London MadManx collected my car for me from the workshop and got it back to the house and up the drive with the help of Dave K, Zaphod and EnCrypt, huge thanks guys. I have had very little time since being home to make any progress as I went back to London last weekend but its not everyday you get to go see Tiesto at the O2, awesome night by the way :luxhello: Anyway here is how she looks just now
  6. Hi Guys and gals For those of you who are interested Richard Bulmer (the fella who mapped my car) is coming back to the island for a couple of days to map a couple of cars and there is time to do some more while he is here, ideally another 4 or 5 cars, the more cars there is the cheaper the cost If you are interested give Ian @ P.A.C.E a call on 852008 and he can give you exact dates and prices
  7. I have most of the parts now and the car is in being jigged this week, hoping to have it back today or tomorrow before I go to London on Sunday

  15. Count me in!! it would mean I dont have to sell my beloved wee XR2 to fund some of the repair to the front end of the Scoob Oh and just dont ask me to be the get away driver for the job as it would seem walls have a habit of jumping out at me at the moment
  16. Thanks guys I have the parts sourced but getting them here to the island is the issue carraige charges on all the parts I need is rediculous
  17. have had some sleep inbetween trying to figure out why I lifted instead of keeping the boot in not got time to watch DVDs now mate, have watched all but one of the last load you gave me
  18. Got on with taking the engine out today Dave K came round early doors after dropping his Mrs off to work and after a couple of bacon baps and a cup of tea we got to it first was to de-plumb and disconnect, also removed alternator and power steering resevoir next was the bit I was not really looking forward to, cutting some of the twisted front end off Top section off and the bottom it all has to come off anyway and it made it much easier to get the engine out then the craine was moved in after alot of swearing and a couple of cups of tea we realised I had left a bolt in and thats why it would not come out, so we finished our tea and removed the bolt and guess what? the engine came out we then removed all the wiring loom and electrics from the wings so there we have it, I have pretty much decided to try and repair her so I just need to put the wheels back on and it is pretty much ready to go off for pulling straight, more cutting and new bits welding on and now for the pics of the bent bits
  19. Cheers for the comments folks, it means alot. I am having a serious down day today, I think it has finally hit home what has happened and how much work it is gonna take to sort I had a call this afternoon about the jig work, the fella went out to look at the car and said it is gonna be about £600 to pull it straight. Its gonna work out to about £700 (give or take) for most of the parts required for rebuilding the front end plus a new FMIC and then painting Starting to wonder if I should consider buying another car and transfer all the parts over to it from the red one another possibility I thought of was to turn it into a serious long term project by buying a bare shell and build myself the scoob I always dreamed of owning, kinda think I am too impatient for that though anyway, providing it does not rain this evening (which it looks like it may) I am gonna try to carry on stripping the front end and get the engine ready for taking out one of my mates planted the seed in my mind to do an engine rebuild while it is out
  20. no rest for the wicked Tracey no need to be jealous mate 'someone upstairs' decided my car needed some re-styling yesterday GUTTED!!!!!  When a car has an argument with a wall the car will always come off worst. Luckily, or not so luckily I have not had the repair bill for it yet, but it was a dry stone wall so the wall took most of the impact force and saved me from a hell of alot more damage. Got the old girl back to the house this afternoon and proceeded to strip it this evening with the halp of Dave K, thanks again Dave. all the junk looking at this I am gonna have to fit a catch tank when rebuilding the car to prevent the oil from going into the new front mount intercooler when fitted in the words of Arnie, "I'll be back!!!" will keep you all posted on the progress
