  1. Where is the damage. Is it across one of the mounting holes. Can you post a pic as it depends on how bad it is. If its as if someone has cut a slot across one of the mounting holes on the outside edge? If so its debateable if you need to get it repaired. I had this on a 16G I had and it had been on the car for years like that and I ran it for a full season of hills and sprints with no issues and no worsening of the defect. I just made sure I used a decent washer to spread the load. If your worried I am sure it could be welded and ground flush.

  2. We are all wiser after the event but as I found out there are few avenues to help out. I had a similar a few years ago on scoobynet. Bought a gearbox which never turned up. I had paid a small amount from my paypal balance and the bulk from my credit card. Paypal would not help as it was not an ebay auction, so lost the small amount. I then contacted my credit card who repaid the amount i had paid using my card. I now refuse to pay for anything unless its a credit card transaction or Cod or from someone I know and trust. If someoen pays me by paypal I wont pay the charges for obvious reasons.

I also make sure I always take out the family legal protection cover on my home insurance. It covers you up to £50k of legal expenses cover for most day to day issues from work related disputes to legal issues with your neighbours. I have used this cover once with a work related dispute to the tune of £50k well worth it in the end.

  3. The logistics i.e hotels and fuel is what I was getting at when I said I understood the expense of two cars in T/A the extra costs of wear and tear and consumables is also considerable in T/A. The expense for Scottish events would be less as some venues could be done without the need for hotels and the others the distances are less so petrol costs would be significantly less. That said the seat time issue for hills and sprints does put a lot of people off and I would say that Fee's car is definately not suited to those events but yours prob is. I would estimate that a full season of hills and sprints (29 events) would see around 155 mins of seat time as opposed to 7 time attack events giving around 490 mins so approx 1/3 of the seat time.

  4. Value for money doesnt really come into motorsports does it?

Your saying T/A is becoming to expensive for a two car entry which is understandable yet you have a cheapish form of motorsport on your doorstep that will cost you £75 per day. If its purely value for money that you are after then track days will give you the most seat time per pound or tarmac stage rallies.

  5. There are two little brackets that sit behind the bumper one at the rear face and one at the top. I assume its the one at the top you are missing, the 3 clips on the winglet clip into it.

  6. Andy has mapped my road Blob and my race RA and I wouldnt take either anywhere else. I cant work out why you would want to either but hey maybe I am biased but given the outcomes I have had on both cars and the advice I have had over the last 4 years I know I wouldnt have got that anywhere else.

  7. Two you can easily get from underneath and two from the top and one awkward one which i use a dumpy 14mm snap on spanner or a swivel socket from underneath. A combination of spanners, sockets and swivel sockets will do the job no problem.
