Just emptied enough gravel for a water feature out of my undertray after a bit of a spin at clarks, sounded really bad when it was being pulled out but just had the car on the ramps and all looking sweet. Polished out one scratch so survived unscathed, apart from under wear obviously. Sorry I didnt get to meet many people this morning didnt really know who anyone was and I was down the bottom end most of the morning. Good fun though except for the spin. Yes mate probably was me. Turbo is massive it was a garret but didnt see which one. The guy is trying to build the fastest Golf in the UK/Scotland. Exhaust all sorted now and fits properly thanks to some TLC with the tig welder.

Nipped down to meercat on Thurs to have some TLC caried out on my exhaust. Big thanks to Scott and Willie for some great help with the problem I had. Standard of work produced by these guys is outstanding. They are genuinely interested in the cars they work on and I would recommend a trip down to anyone looking for some exhaust work. In a lot of cases its actually cheaper to get these guys to produce you an item tailored to your car than it is to buy an off the shelf item which may not be a good fit. [Y]

I have always had excellent service from Ian Greaves, but my car is still under warranty. They are genuinely helpful and I cant fault them. [Y] Should the service not be due at 39628miles or 16/10/07 i.e 10,000 miles or 12 months?

Check ur house insurance, you will be amazed how many people have family legal protection on their policy which covers exactly this situation. Check that first, have major case at work at the minute which is heading to the high court all covered by house insurance [Y]

Are the bandings set from the original manufacturers info or are they set from the emissions data from the MOT. [*-)]

National insurance rates are doubling which will probably wipe out any tax saving and leave most with a higher tax burden than before. Shower of robbing B*******. They even had the cheak to say that this would help those who worked hard, my a***. Well at least I am in band F.

James thanks for the offer its appreciated but I have an STI8 intercooler ready to fit but thanks anyway. Get it up for sale and get some money for it. Its a good part to fit so u should have no problems getting someone to take it off ur hands. You are probably right a 60% increase would probably have most of the main insurance comapnies running in the other direction or rubbing their greedy hands together. Will definately check him out when my current policy expires later this year.

James how are things, BB still looking good and now heading down the mod route. I am with Privilege, they wanted a tracker but standard 55 plate WRX fully comp protected £390. I phoned them last week to get a quote for mods. They were not really into specifics but with an uprated exhaust (as they put it) engine mods, larger TMIC, remap and a power increase of 20% they quoted an extra £75 for the remaining 8 months of my policy. Excess would go up £200, they really only seemed interested in the percentage power increase with general info on what would be done. You may be hit harder though because your percentage power increase would be much bigger. [Y]
