  1. Excellent. Great night. Well done all. :icon_rendeer:
  2. I had that when my pads wore down, but it was at very low speed when setting off or crawling in traffic etc. Not when on the motorway.
  3. Indeed it is. The Early Years alone is advertised at £17.99 in today’s Motorsport News. Santa is bringing me the new DVD but must get the Early Years one ordered too. I have Pedal to the Metal in the house on VHS, but haven't watched is for ages. Also, does anyone know if the release of the 1995 World Championship Review on DVD it just an exact copy of the old VHS version?
  4. Perhaps a bit out the way of the city centre and west end but if you fancy heading to the Southside then you can't beat the Alishan Tandoori, about 30 secs from the Victoria Infirmary. It is just round the corner from my girlfriend and has a very good reputation, and does a fantastic curry. On street parking outside. Would give the local pubs a miss though. Address etc: 250 Battlefield Rd, Glasgow, G42 9HU Tel: 0141 632 5294
  5. Lucky git! I kept looking at going, even as recently as last week I found myself on the Stena website, but given I was at WRC Germany and am only just back from a month in Oz, I couldn't really justify it. My girlfriend's cousin is going with Neale Dougan and they are getting hospitality at Stormont, hospitality with Ford and hospitality with Subaru. He keeps winding me up about it as he knows I am so jealous! Have a good one, bring back lots of pics!
  6. Pretty good programme. Only caught it by chance too. Would be good to get a bit more regional sport on the BBC, motorsport or otherwise.
  7. Nice one, great looking motor. You will be making the rest of us jealous with two Scoobies!
  8. Welcome. Hope you enjoy your time at Scottish Scoobies.
  9. Gutted for you mate. There is all too much of this about. I am going to stop leaving my keys in the house and take both sets to work with me! Will keep a look out as my parents live in Cumbernauld and I am through quite often. Hope you get it back in one piece.
  10. Tesco 99 is still around the £1.01 mark. I ended up buying myself a cheap run-a-round as I was going though a tank of petrol on average every 4 days. So whilst commuting and out and about for work I can be seen in a 12 year old diesel Pug 106 in turquoise! It might not be able to keep up with a modern Transit van but I get 60mpg out of it. Might try some V-power diesel in it and see if it goes any faster.
  11. I have a feeling that if the battery was out for anymore than a few seconds then the key needs to be reprogrammed. I know that is the case with other manufactures.
  12. Glad you are ok mate. Could have been nasty. I have never heard of anyone being charged for an inspection for a fault whilst the car is still under warranty. When I had my Astra and it was under warranty I would tell the garage what I thought was wrong, and they would ring up to tell me whether it could be done under warranty or not. Same with my parents BMW and Audi. Arnie Clark will charge you for an inspection when it is out of warranty but that comes off the cost of the final bill. Any car can break regardless of what it is. My mother had a 3 - Series Compact a few years ago and in 18 months it went wrong about once a month and broke down completely and had to get towed away 3 times. Even my sister's attempts to re-model it failed to solve the problems and eventully they got fed up and traded it. Hope you get it sorted soon.
  13. You normally hear good reports about Ian Grieve. I bought my car from them and had no real complaints. In these situations I normally go in, jump up and down and refuse to leave. That method certainly works with other dealers! Try speaking to Adam Grieve the franchise manager, explain your concerns and that the service just isn't good enough etc etc. Alternatively, go direct to Subaru themselves.
  14. I actually quite like it. Just wish they would do something with the rear end! But then the front of my Bugeye has never been described as pretty. Saw the new WRX in the flesh when I was on my holidays as they had one on a stand in the domestic terminal of Melbourne Airport of all places. I thought it looked a bit better in the flesh and it was still recognisable as a Subaru from certin angles (well head on, from a distance, after a long flight!) I'd have an STI in the future though.
  15. Not been online since the start of the month as still on my hols. It is amazing what you seem to miss on the space of a few weeks. Catching up now as delayed in a backward Oz airport. 16. A truly unbelievable day. I was one of the later cars to turn up at Happendon and the sight that greeted us of Subarus crammed into every corner of the car park was pretty amazing. Convoying to Lanark was something special with people literally stopped in their tracks to watch as and wave. Going down the valley in the middle of the convoy was amazing when at the top of the valley all you could see was Subarus for what seemed like miles in front of you, and at the bottom all you could see in your mirror was Subarus behind you, for as far as the eye could see. A big thanks to everyone involved in the organising, especially Ally-b and Grant, and Strathclyde Police for letting us all convoy though together. The service was an amazing tribute, both moving and emotional, especially the home videos, but it was also the perfect mix of sadness and laughter. I am even smiling now at the thought of the hamster on the Scalextric! The words from Campbell Roy, Dave Richards, Ari Vatenen together with Johnny’s school teachers were also fitting tributes. For me McRae was a hero. I was there when he won the World title and I was proud to be there yesterday. My thoughts remain with the McRae family, and the families of the others involved. It was an incredible day which will remain with me for a very long time to come.

  18. Welcome DR Motorsport's spoilers come painted and will fit in the existing holes with no drilling. Not the easiest persons to get hold of though!
  19. Still don't like the WRX but the STI still looks ok. There was a Mazda 6 MPS along the road from me last week. I think unlike the 3 it is 4 wheel drive. I actually thought it was a really nice looking motor.
