  1. My 9 year old, 98k mile bugeye wagon is feeling a little tired in the suspension stakes. I'm also getting some clunking from the rear when going over potholes, etc. Obviously the best would be to change the springs and shocks but given that the shocks are the more expensive items, I was wondering what difference just changing the springs would make - would that help with the clunking at all? Would they help put some more life into the tired shocks? Thanks! Richard.
  2. Might be worth a punt anyway and see what Duncan@Hypertech says once he has them (he wasn't sure when I phoned him).
  3. Thanks guys. Yes, doesn't look promising. My car is still on the original springs/shocks and at 9 years old with 98k on the clock, it's feel a little tired to say the least!
  4. Both are standard WRX's. Long shot I think.
  5. Hi folks Will a MY06 set of springs and shocks fit a MY01 bugeye? Many thanks Richard.
  6. Yep - can't go wrong with Duncan @ Hypertech - service and prices are superb.

  8. Yes, foot needs to be to the floor to toggle the map (low to high, high to low).
  9. Superb Congrats!
  10. Congrats to you both Now the work starts!
  11. Yep, I'm with Keith Michaels too - via Gary. £495 fully comp for me in a modified 310bhp wagon.
  12. Got a response from the man last night Booked in for the 23rd March (cancellation spot). It seems after that he's free from the 7th April. Richard.
  13. Me too - waiting to get a date for, yet another!, remap.
  14. Will do
  15. Many thanks Off to buy it Cheers Richard.
  16. Thanks Grant (and everyone else). I think I'll go for the TD05 16G since it looks a decent example and get (yet!) another remap from Andy. Sorry to ask again, but does this look like a front entry TD05? Cheers Richard.
  17. NOOO!!!! not more choices!!
  18. Ah - thanks for that - how would the TD05 compare to the VF35 - roughly the same? Btw - here is the turbo. Looks front entry? Cheers Richard.
  19. He takes a while to respond and given how busy he is I'd rather keep the questions I do ask to those only he can answer - if you know what I mean
  20. I think the TD05 comes as a top entry as standard and it needs modifying to be front entry (since the TD05 was for <MY97 cars) for MY98 onwards.
  21. I'm getting tempted by the TD05 16G route now - with the remap from Andy. It would probably cost me £100 more than the straight VF35 replacement. Can you tell from the turbo itself if it's front entry (I've been sent some photos) or is it another part which does the conversion? If I go down the TD05 route, I want to make sure it will fit my bugeye Thanks again for all the advice. Richard.
  22. Not sure what housing my current VF35 has - just a standard Sti one I think. I can't see myself wanting to go beyond my current 310/300 - I drive around a lot on the low map when I'm just heading up and down the road to work - then have the high map for the weekend - so I don't get used to the power and the thrill is still there. Certainly stopped me wanting to up the power over the past 12 months Thanks for the advice and thoughts gents - very much appreciated. Richard.
  23. Arrgghh - decisions!!
  24. Yep - it's a TD05 16G that I've been offered for a decent price. It's been refurbished recently by Turbo Technics too. More interested in decent pick-up when on the motorway (50-70) - so would the TD05, VF35 or the hybrid TD04 be best? Any views? Cheers Richard.
