  1. Machine Mart didnt have any compression testers left so I got one from Halfrauds.

numbers 1, 3 and 4 all showed 115psi and guess what no 2 showed 20psi

does anyone know if you can get the head off without lifting out the engine?

    Graeme

Firstly not good news to hear G, onwards and upwards I suppose.

115psi seems a tad low too does it not? I thought standard brand new was around 165psi. You'd expect to lose a little compression but thats almost 33% less...or is this quite normal?

  2. Yep sure was, at one point I was having "fun" in 4th, decided to calm down and up into 5th, I was in 5th all the time!!!

Andy F gave me a controller to drop off at AWD for you, assumed Andy from AWD called you?

No but I got an e-mail from Andy F. I'll give AWD a call tomorrow. Scoob is currently my good running car as the beemer failed MOT today on near side rear brake for handbrake, bugger lol (should get sorted tomorrow though)

Thanks for dropping the controller off at AWD for me ;)

  3. Met a gritter on the way to Turriff,he was coming towards me It was like driving through a sand storm.Peppered the front of the car chipping the paint in loads of places. even slowing down to 40 made no difference. This p***k was going full tilt. You expect gritters in the winter , but not at this time year. Would i have a right to complain to the council about this and would it get me anywhere.Only had the car 8 days.

Anyway on the positive side , the problem i had with the clutch, turned out to be 2 missing bolts on the exhaust heat plate.

Gritters at this time of year! Theres an online complaint thing on the aberdeenshire council website, maybe worth googling that

    0-100 = 4.14 (incls 2 gear shifts)

    30-130 5.01 (incls 3 gear shifts)

1/8th mile 5.95@127mph (Pod time slip)

  5. Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) is a component of the electronic fuel injection system installed between the air filter and the engine. The MAF sensor is used to measure the amount of air entering the engine. This measurement is used by the engine computer to calculate proper amount of fuel injected into the cylinders in order to provide optimum combustion and low emissions.

A contaminated MAF sensor can cause a wide range of various vehicle driveability problems such as stalling, especially when the engine is cold, misfiring, poor acceleration, etc. HKS induction kits seem to carbon up the measurement wire more than others.

I bet that wasnt off the top of your head bobby
