so do i need to get a remap when i fit it?

i have managed to get one off of scoobaroo on here. try ebay as there are normally one or two on there.

From what i have been told the STI one is better for up to 380bhp but tbh it is a bit of a saftey blanket for me.

I am going to be in posession of an STI topmount intercooler soon and potentially have someone to buy my standard wrx one. what i am wating to know is can i just swap them over and run the STI one on my car or do i need to get it remapped?

a wise man removed my snorkus and i now just have a big hole at the side of the air box. i get a nice noise now with turbo spool up and also from the recirculating valve.

well i now have a few pieces sitting waiting to get fitted STI PINK INJECTORS WALBORO 255 FUEL PUMP MAGNEX UP PIPE HKS DECAT DOWNPIPE (YES YOU READ IT CORRECTLY) DEFI BF BOOST, OIL TEMP AND OIL PRESSURE KNOCKLINK Now all i have left to get is 18g turbo, aps cai, sti topmount intercooler and an AndyF ECUTEK remap and a new clutch.

thanks to everyone for their help with this. i have made my mind up and the 18g it is. Hopefully by February next year i wll be finishing this project off. I now have sti pink injectors, a walbro fuel pump, a brand new magnex up pipe and defis on the way as well as a knocklink. only the expensive parts left to buy now.

Now look what's gone and started lol. Big shout out for the newage members on here. At the end of the day everyone has different tastes which is part of the fun of the whole scooby way of life. Some people like lots of power and noise and others prefer the silent assassin approach. What is important is that the fun and the passion inside doesn't go away.

Now now lets not stir up another pot here.

What a great day it was today. I spent most of the day strapped in to John's oassenger seat which was great fun. a full 720 on the second lap was amazing. Jonh was getting the car round nicely. He had a great lap time of 1m16s which in the wet and having been his first time round was rather good. Also thanks to Stephen for a few pax laps. hope the brakes survived your journey home.

What's wrong with wanting a wee bit of noise? The topmount may be a good precautionary measure. i may spend the money on it onstead of a sportcat lol. does anyone know what the fine is etc if you get pulled for emissions?

Went to Peter's last night for a wee chat and some food and ending up taking the chinese 400 out for a wee spin. Oh did i mention that the man himself was not behind the wheel or even in the car ;-) What a car you have there Peter. Makes me want some more power now lol. Went to see my old boss after taking your car out for a spin he has a lovely collection of cars in his garage (a couple of rally cars, a scoob sti and also a nice wee soft top scimitar i think).

so would fitting an STI topmount intercooler really make much difference to a standard WRX newage one then for aiming around 330bhp?
