Cheers Monki, going to be keeping an eye on that spoiler, even though it sickens me. Cheers again, Shaun.

He seemed sure of himself that it was not stolen, but could have been bumped or knocked off during transit. I mean, these things hand on pretty well at 150mph, something tapping it isn't going to make it fall off!

Just off the phone with the vehicle inspector, was asking about the car, mileage, cost, spec etc. Was almost sick to the stomach to hear him ask, was the spoiler knocked off in the accident?........................ I am raging!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update: Heard back from A-Plan yesterday, the car is a total loss as expected. They asked me to forward the usual documents, V5, insurance certificate, MOT certificate and also all service costs and receipts I had so that the insurance company can research what the car would be worth today or something along those lines. So fingers crossed that the offer is fair and also hoping to buy it back to break for parts. It's going to be heartbreaking to see again, but I'd rather break it than some scrappy. I'll keep you posted how things turn out, I know a lot of people have been asking for parts already. Cheers, Shaun.

Yeah, that was mine. It was being collected from Burgoynes to be taken and inspected.

Cheers again guys for the kind words. Phoned the insurance company today to get an update, they are still waiting for the inspection report, will probably hear back from them on Tuesday. Have posted the pictures to the insurance company for my own peace of mind, they would normally just base their decision on the Police's accident report, but anything I do to help is always an advantage. My insurance broker is A-Plan and they are doing a top notch job for me and come highly recommended. I'll keep you all posted on the events happen. Thanks again, Shaun.

Thanks very much for the kind words, some even brought a chuckle to my bruised torso. ha ha She was not pregnant, otherwise it would've been an ambulance job for her, but she just trundled home with her pal. As much as I'm upset that the car's totalled, I'm ok, she was ok and as many say cars can be replaced, lives can't. Although I'll say this - Airbags are nasty. I never made contact with it, but the burns on my arms are killing me and just after the accident, the inside of that car with the 2 deployed airbags was a horrible place to be. The heat generated from them is undescribeable and the smell, well, you can't breathe. I really don't want to be in that situation again. Thanks again guys, I'll keep you posted on how things go with the insurance company. Shaun.

This is a video on the run up to the spot where the accident happened. Please excuse dodgy workmate cam....

Was involved in a head on collision with a Corsa Tuesday lunchtime. On the road from Glen Village (Hallglen) to The Three Kings (Shieldhill). Approaching the "S" bend and was struck head on by the Corsa. She was completely on my side of the road and we both had no time to avoid each other. The car is almost certainly written off as the roof has crumpled just past the B-pillars. Sadly I shall not be replacing it with another one, despite enjoying every second of ownership, except the ones that cost money that is. Both myself and the other driver escaped un-injured with only minor burns from the Air-bag going off and bruising from the seatbelts. Shaun..

Looked like a good night. I'm sure I've seen that P1 parked just round the corner a few times from where I stay in Brightons. Is it owned by Scott that used to work in Millers some years back?

I'll be there. Shaun

OPINIONS AND ADVICE PLEASE RE BRAKES
shaun_odonnell replied to the blue dragon's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Check out Godspeed brake upgrades. AWD in Perth sorted my P1 out with them. Good price aswell. -
Blitz - Avoid. K&N - Better Apexi - Can't really do much better.

Sorry guys, I should have specified more. It's not for an Impreza.........

If it's of any interest....... http://p1woc.co.uk/postnuke/index.php?name...pic&t=13927

Does anyone know who does brake caliper reconditioning within close proximity to Falkirk?

There are issues with the P1 like weak crank, underfuiling of cyclinder 3 & MAF sensor issues. But a P1 is a STI type 5. You would have the same theoretical problems with the Type 5 than you would with a P1, more so infact as Prodrive modified the P1's ECU to contain more knock protection as the UK fuel is not as high a RON as Japanese fuel. Why do you think this Type 5 has had a new engine? Providing they're serviced regularly and correctly, run on decent fuel and with a decent re-map (see Andy Forrest), avoid induction kits, a new MAF every year and do not run the thing at top speeds for prolonged periods of time you won't have any problems (fingers crossed). And of course always warm up and cool down.

It's not really that big!!! Just really small folk working on it!!! -
Ha ha, class. Did anyone see this years Gumball 3000 rally. There was a camouflaged (spelling) Rolls Royce Phantom on it that wiped out on a L/H bend. Ouch!!!
-
Don't know anyone that has, but shouldn't you ask; "Has anyone went from an Impreza to a GT4?" Think the answer would be no and that says a lot.

Just a wee bit of carbon - what do you guys think??
shaun_odonnell replied to a topic in Scottish Scoobies
Forget how it looks, as long as it can direct loads of cool air through the intercooler at high speeds, get's my vote!! I've read that classics suffer from loss of air through the standard scoop at speeds over 120 or so mph, causing huge intake temps and finally ca-boom. I've fitted a later, taller scoop to my P1 and just painted it black. If it does it's job, keep it, as long as you can see over it of course!!! ha ha -
I'll agree with you there!!!!

Welcome mate, Is it this one? http://www.mackaytrading.co.uk/fullvehicle...25471&popup= If so, they had that in there last year when I bought my P1 from them. I went in to buy the P1 but they kept showing me this STI. Thought it was too expensive then and still expensive now. Get a UK model that better mapped for uk fuel and better set up for UK roads, like a P1. Have a look on hear http://p1woc.co.uk/postnuke/modules.php?op...&file=index for further info and P1's for sale. Shaun.

Saw the P1 on Top Gear back in 2000 or 2001 and decided,"Havin one of those". It's the first Subaru I've bought, drove and even been in. I knew it was going to be amazing so didn't need a test drive. First time I drove it was when I brought it home from Mackay Trading in Edinburgh, in rush hour traffic!!!! Scary experience in a unfamiliar car. Never looked back since though, Love it.

Is there a Video number 2 heading our way????
