irish al Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Signed up for the new Shell V-Power Club to get my points transfered over as Shell Pluspoints stops working at the end of June. Found out tonight that all the points Ive collected over the past few years will be exchanged for vouchers at the end of the month. For those of you who havent registered yet you need to do it here www.shell.co.uk/driversclub then login and choose your reward. If you dont choose a reward you will be sent fuel vouchers by default. So it looks like at the end of every quarter any points you have earned will be exchanged for vouchers for your chosen reward. Its a bit crap if youve been saving for something decent as all the good rewards dont seem to be available on the new scheme. Not sure what happens to your pluspoints if you dont register with the new scheme or spend them before the deadline.. I now wish I had exchanged my points with the Pluspoints Scheme before registering with new one as the rewards were better. Al
david_taylor Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 You dont get much back in return anyway. I reckon I have spent around 1.5 to 2k on fuel over a year, and the best I could get in return was a £15 Halfords voucher! Tried to register there again, and it would not let me in. I have emailed them to get it reset and also asked if its true about having to redeem your current points. Dave
gus the bus Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Al, Cheers for the reminder had mine sitting here to transfer and forgot all about it[:S] I'll get it done now[Y] Gus
craigdmcd Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Don't know how long I had saved for (but it was a while), but I redeemed mine for £150 of B&Q vouchers. I also get points by having a Shell Visa card now, so I have another £50-60 coming soon. They can be used in Comet and Halfords as well, so you usually find something to buy.
st3ph3n Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 The woman at Shell Cumbernauld thought I needed the drivers club card, but I thought the V-Power club (which I've had a card for ages now) was still ok?
craigdmcd Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Stephen, you are absolutely right, if you got a new V-Power club card to replace your Optimax card, then that's what you should be collecting points on.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 I use the V-Power card and get Shell fuel vouchers for £50 - £60 maybe twice a year............better than nowt CGS
irish al Posted June 6, 2007 Author Posted June 6, 2007 The woman at Shell Cumbernauld thought I needed the drivers club card, but I thought the V-Power club (which I've had a card for ages now) was still ok? It seems to be complicated. I had a plus points card and and was sent a new vpower club card but was still registered with the pluspoints scheme as thats what i joined years ago. You have to register with the new scheme and get your points transfered over before end of june. Once you register on the new scheme there is a section in the rewards asking if you want to transfer your old pluspoints over. If the first card you ever got was a vpower card through the vpower club scheme then you should be ok. Al
oobster Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 I am totally confused. Why did they need to make it all complicated!!
P1Andy Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 I have a pluspoints card just now. How do you get the v-power club? I should be the chairman with the ammount of it i use. Andy
