paul_dyson Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Drove several of mine early this morning: B1508 Colchester-Sudbury. Not many overtaking places but fantastic when deserted with three tight switchbacks (last one particularly is a double hairpin with plenty of visibility and scope for sliding the car about). B1508 Sudbury to Castle Headingham. Short but very sweet with lots of straights ending in sharp bends. Unnamed road from Sible Headingham to Wethersfield, joining the B1053 to Radwinter. Very fast, usually empty, some great dips in the road to charge down. Anyone else got favourite routes in East Anglia?
chu my pu Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 NOT THE 1101 from mildenhall to littleport.... if i go faster than 55 i bounce off the damn road.... usually not a problem, but there is 25 foot deep diches on each side.
Chris77 Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 A1123 between Stretham and soham, some very fast corners, very open but can be a little blind as its so flat and one nasty bump on a corner!!
Rudds Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Layer to copford. open road with some tight corners. Can see if other cars are coming so you can use the whole road
WR1 Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Was flying down that very road tonight (Layer to Copford), round 9ish... Red 03

I'm with you on that but I think even 55 is too fast for it [] - take the left off that road and head down towards Ely and there is a lovely sweeping road that makes up for the airborne moments [H]

chief-long-shin Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 The road from March to coates through turves. A blinding mixture of sweeping, 90 degree bends . lon bumpy straights and some smooth ones all coupled together with some shit scary railway crossings, a river and a dyke. Most people tend to hoon it along here about 30mph - being in the scoob i go for 37mph!!! Second to that any large roundabout in pboro coupled with rain is my favourite poison at this time.
