  1. Thanks for the info. I've spoken to XS & they recommended I go for the 6 pot AP on the front only and leave the rear brakes as standard. Is this what everyone else has done, just upgraded the fronts? I know most of the braking gets sent to the front of the car but still. What sort of price would I be looking at for the Godpseed 335mm discs please. Would I get change from a grand or not? Thanks SquirrelHead
  2. Okay, excuse my ignorance. What's wastegate chatter sound like then? I get a "whoosh" sound when changing gear, is that the same or is that the bov or dump valve or whatever the thing is. Sorry, only had standard scoobies before, not used to this modified lark [] SquirrelHead
  3. Hi all, I started asking questions in technical but probably better for me to post this here as it relates to our area. I have a 2003 WRX and the standard brakes don't stop the car. I've been looking at XtremeScoobies in Chelmsford and they have a few brake upgrades listed. These two caught my eye: DBA Sport 4000 6x6 Wiper-Slot DBA SPORT 5000 2 Piece Anyone any experience of these please. Would they fit under my standard 17" wheels or would I need to upgrade them also? Be interested to hear what people have to say on here before calling them. Also, I presume they are able to tell me what bhp the car is putting out or is there someone better to find that out. It's been a while since I last did that. Used a place in Witham but cannot remember what they were called. Anyone able to remind me please. Thanks SquirrelHead
  4. WTF! Okay, who took the caravan round??? [:S]
  5. double wahey! after ten years of scooby ownership I finally get spotted! [Y]
  6. The Red 03 is mine, the Stickered up Green Classic belongs to someone up the road to me... I sometimes see their scoob at the Swan pub but haven't worked out who they are yet
  7. Was flying down that very road tonight (Layer to Copford), round 9ish... Red 03
  8. 69... Seems like a nice number to go out on So, at 38 does that make me middle aged now then???
  9. Mine fell off about a month after getting the car. That was six years ago and I have never noticed any difference...
  10. << July the 1st....see you there..... >> Hi m8. Looking forward to the 1st, you done one of these driving days before? If I do have the WR1 by then dunno whether that would be good or bad really, at least my Classic is well run in
  11. Well, you put me to shame already, I've got some post counts to catch up on...
  12. Like Ant I have one on order though when it will be delivered is anyone's guess. My dealer in Colchester hasn't had their first one yet and I'm second on the list Doubt the DCCD will ever come off auto if I'm honest unless I get it in time for my driving day on the 1st July in which case hopefully I'll learn what it does
  13. << If we don't Andy will be able to fill them himself >> Blimey, he must weigh more than me...
  14. Ah, thinking of someone else then I think he was an advanced driver for the police now I think back, if I remember right he trained the motorway police or something. Just out of interest, what happens if you don't get two more people for the 1st July, does the day get cancelled or do the two that are booked get the day to ourselves Thanks
  15. BTW, been meaning to ask are you the same Phil that convinced me to buy the Scoob back in 98?? (ex Police or something if I remember right).
  16. Thought as much but having watched CustomScoobies clips thought I should ask Thanks for that Phil. Matt T.
  17. Well, may as well double my posts on SIDC. Been in lurker mode for six years and now two posts in two minutes... I know this isn't a track day so don't expect too much in the way of problems on the day but do people usually take insurance out for this sort of day's training or would my normal insurance cover it? Also, what sort of strain on the tyres can I expect from this day? Will I leave with little tread or is the day fairly gentle on the car in relative terms. From a Scooby oldie who is a training newbie
  18. Phil, Just to confirm I am already booked on the 1st July date and seeing as my name is Matt as well thought I should come out of lurker mode to let you know there appears to be two "Matts" booked onto the 1st and we are not one and the same Well, I presume we are not. Hey Matt, are you a balding fat getting old bloke as well in which case we might be brothers... Whether I'll have the WR1 by then is anyone's guess otherwise it will be my faithful 98 Classic. Matt T.
