How can a Newbie like me argue with a man with Subaru clothes.

I stand corrected, my car is pants

I love this thread, lol :P

BTW, what does a WR1 have that an STI doesn't ? (other than the color, a funnky'ish subaru map, and high price tag !!! B) )

The FACT (noticed you Scottish like that word) that only 500 were made and were the most powerful subaru made, from the factory. Mitsubishi and Subaru apparantly had an agreement they wouldnt go above about 270bhp ( I know prodrive stis are 305bhp) but the wr1 is 320bhp. This is only what i have read so dont blame me if im talking out my ar$e.

I have a 2003 wrx and i love it - fact

I will disappear to kent scoobies now and leave you aggressive northerners to fight it out amongst yourselves.

Having owned a UK classic turbo, blobeye WRX and a hawkeye STi, I have to say that nothing compares to the STi.

Classics do not rule.

WRX Spot lights, that light blue paint job, 17 inch PF7 wheels finished in a chrome colour and other stuff, oh yes, and a badge!

If your at the BBQ in June you can get a shot in mine.

Yes please! At this rate, if I put togeher all the promises of shots in Classics, it will be like owning one!

you cannot compare a UK turbo against a STi, whether its jap or UK spec, trust me i have one of each at my door and the difference is night and day

the Jap ones rule :P

Are you offering a wee shot in the jap spec ?

My point exactly. And you forgot the X-amount of extra thousand price tag that could be spent on a few choice mods and a proper map, if i was spending X-amount of thousands it wouldn't be on a WR1 !

Ps, All scoobs rock. If it wasn't the old UK that most of us have owned and been totally inspired from we wouldn't be here today. :iagree:

Fact- out of all the newage cars the bugeye is the lightest :iagree:

Oh and Collin if the classics are so good why do you have newage bits on your car....... :rotfl:

Things a Wr1 has over a STI are:

Lovely Ice blue paint

Only 500 made

320hp 310 torque

1st UK model to have DCCD

Prodrive springs

Prodrive bump stop mod

18" PFF7's in exclusive Pewter colour (not 17" crome Welsho )

Charcoal colour interior, dash, seats, carpets (like Jap spec c) not all blue with silver dash in sti's.

Mesh front grills (which you all fit to sti's)

PIAA driving lights

Special signed plaque, tax disc holder & keyring (keyring alone sells for over £100 )

Not just another blue & gold sti :D

Worth every penny :D

Negative comments like its just a over priced sti from none owners :D:lol:

All in all a fantastic car in standard spec without needing to throw a load of cash at it to make it so
