david_taylor Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 http://videos.streetfire.net/recentvideos/...907016dea26.htm Dont know is this has already posted. My opinion = YUK!
kloon Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Thing is though, is this nae just American models we've seen so far ? I mean we're not even getting a WRX over here no more aren't we, just an STi, and no saloons either ? (Or am I talking bowlarks ?) Think i'll wait and see what the UK models look like before passing judgement.

oobster Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Tinabeth? Really? Tinabeth? Na, that canny be her real name. Surely?
jcscoob Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 I like it too, the sti hatch will be super cool !! []

jcscoob Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 If I buy one when the STi is released, please shoot me. Or just stoot you in the head with your new lense !! []
colzo Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Nothing sporty looking about that. I`ll wait till the STI version comes out, but 1st impressions.........[N]
irish al Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Found this clip of the reveal. What a pile of crap he talks. http://www.revmods.com/884/video-2008-subaru-impreza-wrx/ Is that the best they could come up with - Sharper Suspension, Sports Seats and a Hood Scoop. And the worst line ever - "Now clearly this car is built for performance" Aye it mabye is but definately lacking in the looks department. Oh dear. I would still fancy getting one anyway even though it looks naff cause I definately didnt buy the one I have now cause it looks pretty. Bodykit, alloys and the usual mods will make it look good. Imagine having 300+ BHP after a few engine mods in a 4WD sports hatch that handels as good as subarus do. [] Mabye not the mean rally slag look that imprezas have, but roll on the uk version of the STI to see what it will be like. Al
andy Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 That video reminds me of The Simpsons where Homer designs his ideal car... The Yank marketing bollocks reminds me too much of why I hate working for a US company... The claim you will be able to pick up one of these (in two different videos) for less than $25,000 (£12,600) reminds me why I hate this rip-off country we live in. Tell me something positive about this news - please!!! [:S]
imprezapete Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 You guys remember the UK wont get a Saloon model, just hatchback and there is question as to weather the UK will get a WRX as well
wheelchairscooby Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 would you buy one no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! case rests
iainc Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Hmmm... think it speaks a lot about the hatch looks when they chose the saloon to display at the launch party. In some lights the saloon doesn't look just as bad as the original pics looked... still not a great fan but I think I may have to reserve final judgemnt until I see one in the flesh.
jamesm Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Hmmm... think it speaks a lot about the hatch looks when they chose the saloon to display at the launch party. In some lights the saloon doesn't look just as bad as the original pics looked... still not a great fan but I think I may have to reserve final judgemnt until I see one in the flesh. The launch was the American spec car and the Yanks don't like hatchbacks so it makes sense to launch the saloon there. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The move to the hatch is because the rally car is going to be the hatch and they assume that everyone will want to drive the 'rally car'. There is no WRX as they want to sell more normally aspirated cars and reduce their range’s average CO2 emissions [:S]. So STI only and I will reserve judgment until I see it in the flesh as I still think with the styling beefed up it could look ok. But for us WRX drivers the only option is to upgrade to a STI, which pushes my budget too far. But I am a few years off that yet!
andy Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 According to a mate... Autocar this week, there's good news & bad news... Good news - they will almost certainly import the WRX Bad news - the diesel WRX, that is..... 160bhp or thereby.
