st3ph3n Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 And they are (drum roll please) ..... 290bhp and 290lb/ft of torque. Better than I could have hoped for. So that "concludes" the project. Maybe it's just the end of the first project with a second to come, maybe not. I'm ecstatic with the car right now. The torque curve is so strong, and it might be an old cliché but the car pulls as hard in 3rd now as it did in 2nd previously. The handling and braking are pretty well sorted too, and there's nothing much else I want to do. For the moment [] So like all good award speeches I'll have to do some thanking, because I sure as hell didn't do the work myself. First thanks to Andy Forrest for mapping the car this morning. Was the first time I'd met Andy and it was a real pleasure to have him working his magic on the car. I learned a few new things this morning as well that I will keep in mind for any future plans. It's good to have a genius close by. The two SPECIALISTS, and I use that word delibarately, who have worked on the car since I got it - Hypertech and Greers. Both excellent places to go and I can highly recommend them. To anyone that I've bought bits from. Particularly Gus the bus for sourcing me the downpipe from his mate who fabricates them. I know it's only one part of many, but it's an important one and the proof is in the pudding, and 290/290 is a damn tasty pudding. The OSIDC and Peter for all their advice and the good banter. Peter for his wheeling and dealing too [] Anyone else that's given me advice in person or on the forums. It's always much appreciated. Spooks and Gus for helping fit my gauges. The engine bay scares me! And Subaru for making the car in the first place. More rattles than mother care, but it goes and it turns. So for those interested and because I'm completely open about what it's running here is the spec of what is no longer the little WRX that could, but what I will now christen Kuroi Akuma (the black demon): MY05 WRX (Euro Import)Standard block, intercooler and turbo.Full decatted exhuast comprising APS Up-pipe, Gus the bus sourced Downpipe, Miltek centre section and an H+S Backbox. This combination can only be described as LOUD. Even the squirrell said it was a bit cheeky.NGK7 Iridium plug things, forget the proper model number. STI Panel Filter, Samco Intercooler hose, Walbro 255lbh fuel pump, HKS SSQV dump valve and a Zero/Sports Cool Thermo. Oh and a Cusco slam panel. Bit of cooling bling []Tein springs, whiteline droplinks, Cusco front and rear strut braces. Prodrive Geometery.EBC Red Stuff pads all round. EBC discs up front. Goodridge braided hoses and 5.1 fluid.Standard 5 speed with a lightenned flywheel and an Exeddy Organic Clutch.Defi Genome Gauges (Boost, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure)Scott Lowe GT wing and splitter. Think that's it.
