ANDYJDMSTI Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Ouch!!!.......that is abit steep. Makes me glad to be over 30 now, just renewed mine, more mods than Brighton beachfront in the 70's..................under a grand! []
scoobyiain Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 I'm 25 with 7 years no claims and pay £650 thru bell on my 2004 sti I was with adrian flux when i had my rs turbo and was paying about £700 and when i asked about my subaru they quoted me nearly 2k go onto www.moneysupermarket.com thats where i got my cheap quote
ANDYJDMSTI Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Bell are good, was with them for about 6 years. Got my first WRX import when i was 25 (4 year NCB) - £1100. They also do not mind mild mods either. Would have stayed with them but unfortunately due to the cars modification level now they could not cover it. Get an online quote from them here - www.bell.co.uk
sti pretender Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 I'm 35 and 6 years NCB, the range of quotes I got in September were from £700 to £2500 so its not just the younger driver.
st3ph3n Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Ketih Michaels quoted me at 25 with 5 years NCB for £750 on an 05 WRX with Mods.
sn00py Posted January 25, 2007 Author Posted January 25, 2007 think i will have to go with Bell. my current car policy is running out in 2 month i was hopping to continue my policy with them if they are cheap but think again!!
WHITEUK Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 I would try either tesco or keith michaels when i was 24 tesco was £1200 with car as standard and keith michaels said he would struggle to beat that but when i modded tesco was going to be 5k[:|] Now im with keith michaels im 25 with serious modifications for about 1700 - 1800 ps. car is an sti type uk and ive no convictions J
craig79 Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 I'm with Direct Line, phoned last night to list the mods both performance and cosmetic. 27, 6Yrs ncd, driveway, tracker - £670 but a £700 excess. Just have to be careful eh[]
Auldy Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 im 20yrs old 3yrs no claims n 3points!! pay £2285 fully comp wit dad on policy aswell! thats for a 99' impreza wrx sti, also an import so wee bit dearer on the premiums but hey its all gd [] thats with A-Quote
seano Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Try A plan, they gave me the best prices for my last 3 cars,
wrxmania Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 I'd try elephant.co.uk and admiral.co.uk as well as Bell Direct (they are the same company) and both Admiral and Elephant have ALWAYS been cheaper for me over the last 6/7 years I have used them. They do a good price - no frills insurance and their claims service etc is good too. Currently have the Lexus insured with Elephant (even Keith Michaels could not beat their price) and HAHAHAHA esure.com would not even quote it [] My Impreza is insured with Keith Michaels, all mods declared AND LISTED AND COVERED, WRX STI Import - yet it is less to insure than my UK WRX was, with hardly any mods. Thanks to Gary @ Keith Michaels - Elephant cancelled my policy when I told them the car had an electronic boost controller - they had no idea, no matter how many people I spoke to and gave me 7 days - moved to Keith Michaels and saved £100, with all the mods covered like for like replacement. Brian []
gus the bus Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Admiral for me with the last 4 scoobs and beat everyone by a furlong. £428 with all mods (and some still to go on) declared. Give them a try you may be surprised. Gus
d19yda Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 i had two insurance companies battling it out Tesco and RAC! tesco beat the quote rac had offered which was the best so far then rac beat tesco im 25 with a 99 turbo payin, i think its £680 Fully comp give them a try? Davie
Alan-G Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Am 40 with 15 years NCD. Got a quote from Elephant that turned out cheaper (without mods though * Gus Les Autobus * take note - is the new spoiler gonna be classed as a Mod?) than me wifeys car being an 05 Hyundai coupe. (the fastest version - which is actually pretty naff ) At £427 I think I'm no bad at that - just a shade over the Gas bill at £350 for the last 3 months [:|] And the next Gas bill will overtake the last one methinks. Ahhh - overtake, best word in the good old Oxford Papyrus ! [] It's a 56 WRX non STi BTW.
craig_harey Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 hi i have a my55 wrx no mods yet !! me and my sister on it as it takes it down and my insurer is elephant i am 27 clean licence for 6 yrs and 2yrs ncd my premium is £866.11 fully comp £250 excess
sn00py Posted January 26, 2007 Author Posted January 26, 2007 thanks for all the info guys, will give them a call tomorrow, i off to viewing a car this coming weekend just wanted to make sure i get all the insurance sorted before buying the car.
scientific steve Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 just had to do mine the day through keith michaels 36 years old, 9 years protected, parked on the street, 3 points, ALL mods listed and me old man on it too 570 british pounds, which is less than last year and i now have more bits added [] big up to moley
higgy Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Hey bud Have you given A plan a ring yet. I got a good rate of off them. Higgy
stephen_paris Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 try admiral, i think they are the best especially if you have more than one car
david_taylor Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 I am 29 with 7 years no claims protected, with missus on as named driver. Renewed today through A Plan. Keith michaels were over 90 more than them. MY00 UK Turbo with SS Exhaust. £481. I found both Priveledge and Elephant gave good quotes but only with a Tracker. And the cost of subscribing to that outweighs the cost that you might save on insurance. Plus the time the police track down the motor its stripped in a yard anyway! Dave
Guest CRAIG DILLON Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 am 25 iv got a imported wrx sti iv got 4years ncb and i pay 840 fc with tesco which was pritty good i thought, only thing i had to get was a tracker put on but dont think that was nowt to do with my age tho
infiltrator2 Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 If you don't phone A Plan you'll kick yourself.... My STI V3, was with Admiral for last 6 years. Latest policy was £485 (ok, I am 42..) A Plan want £360 and they'll pass on the tracker requirement cause I've had the car 8 years. My better also half saved money on renewing her Insurance on an RX8 moving from Diamond. And we saved £100 year on our house insurance through A Plan.. Good bunch of chaps - and you talk direct to the guys in the office.
