thefastone Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 I have to say that, In cant stand the New format, I find that its really not easy on the eyes, I find that I'm strugglin with it... it looks like it was thrown together by a 10 year old... (sorry [:$]) the information that Were used to is just not there, Its very helpful knowing who started a thread, so that when multiple threads with the same name appear I know which I am looking at... the buttons were in a fairly nice place before, and now they have all been moved, and the PM button, I had to really search for... I also hate that when I'm posting I have to click on a different tab to see the post options, again its ANOTHER thing to do before clicking post... I'm very much with the opinion that has been pointed out before, if its not broke, don't fix it... I'm no expert by any means, but SURELY there could have been a fix for the existing theme for Internerd explorer 7 which I also hate more than ever now! rather than just upping stix and changing EVERYTHING.... I just dont see any logic in it...
Dougie C Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 Personally, I dont have a problem with the new forum. It's like everything nowadays ie TVs, Computers etc they all get upgraded. I've downloaded IE7 now and I find that worse than the new forum layout, but would we all complain to Microsoft if we didn't like something??? Only problem was small and it was the password and cookies thing. Merry Christmas Dougie C

G.Mac Posted December 28, 2006 Author Posted December 28, 2006 easy way is when you have automatic updates on is tell it not to install without permission. therefor when I got my updates instead of all of them installing I chose not to install IE& and told it not to remind me again, therefor no IE7 ever on this computer!!![Y] Graeme (new forum is still poo)

RA Dunk Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 it`s not that bad really i quite like it, the only gripe i have is it`s sore on the eyes when looking through threads etc, hopefully it can be sorted []
frank c Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 I also find it sore on the eyes. Any news on whats going to change to make it more user friendly ? ps; who actually designed it ????

gus the bus Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Quote I hate the posted pictures when you can't read some of the words if you know what i mean. Peter, know exactly what you mean!!! annoys the Sh*t out of me. If we could move the adds away from down the right hand side that would make things much better IMHO. Gus

~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Those who pay for the annual membership should NOT be subjected to adverts IMHO ..... The ones that don't pay should suffer though as they are not really funding the brotherhood Does that sound fair ? I wouldn't mind Phils feedback on that ? ( I can cope with the ad's at the bottom of the page however ) Cal

RA Dunk Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Quote Traffic has dropped on the site since the upgrade think alot of peeps are having loging problems, i couldent log in for 6 hours yesterday till i found that thread in general section explaining how to log in again
dougster Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 "I believe that is being looked at." My a**e. Someone PLEASE tell us the truth here.
micra_wrc Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 is there away of adding something at the bottom of the threads, so we dont needto scroll back to the top of the thread to navigate back to the mainsection/other sections of the main SIDC forum?
andy Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Quote "I believe that is being looked at." My a**e. Someone PLEASE tell us the truth here. By your greyed-out avatar, you don't appear to be an SIDC Member. If that is the case then you have no right to criticize, demand or ask for anything.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 w.r.t traffic dropping - is that a reflection of the Off Topic Section ( which I prefer to keep to deflect any non Scoob chat) or down to the fact that people are not liking the new look ? The look & functionality will be fine tuned in my opinion so we must "stay the course" as George Dubya says Yeah it could be the password issue to though I will support the club but I do feel that :- a) the search function is very poor not being able to visit "your threads" or "unanswered posts" etc is annoying Not a major issue Cal

The traffic dropping thing is one man's opinion and, sorry Squizzel, but unproven - though it wouldn't suprise me if it was the case as the online list seems to consistenly show less people online than pre-upgrade. The only people who know what traffic is doing are the Admins. Either way - we must remember the people behind the site are volunteers. I've been more than vocal myself in the past [:$] but it is the festive season so cut them some slack.
