kloon Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Just been hearing on the news a 15 year old lad was knocked off his bike last night in a hit and run. Car has been described as a blue Subaru Impreza with blue neons and all over body graphics, anyone know it ? I'm not connected in anyway to the lad concerned and don't want to sound like a snitch, just think cowards like that should be taken off our roads, no way can you hit a cyclist and not be aware of it.
scientific steve Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 not good [] dont know of it but will keep my eyes and ears open
johns Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Not good news, but I don't know any cars that match that description. Never seen an Impreza with Neons in real life. John
RS Grant Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Not from the area, not been up in ages, but sounds like an Impreza that has been styled by a Boulie Basher... Hope they catch the driver and make him share a cell with a large gent called Leeroy that enjoys playing Mummys and Daddies with spineless Chavs. Cheers, Grant
thefastone Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Thats Sh*t! I dont know the car either... dont tend to like cars like that so Dont look out for them... but that said, I now will.... Bloody coward!
gogsie Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Don't know it! but someone out there must! Can't be a lot of Scoobies fitting that description, the guy will be sh**ing himself and rightly so - he is going to get caught.
craig mac Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Grant Strange you say that as i have just received a phone call from someone who says they have seen a Blue Stickered up Impreza @ The Beach on the Boulie This is a kid that has been knocked off his bike and they drive off? I hope they string him by the nads![:@] CraiG
thefastone Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 As a thought, what kind of stickers? and was it a newage or classic? I just remembered that I saw a car on Union Street, Saturday night, new age with full WRC graphics.... dont remember neons tho... only remembered not having seen it about aberdeen before... dont think that would have been it like.... I expect it was a classic, having neons? Just a thought...
philip_wilson Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 lets hope the focker gets the sh1t kicked out of him then his car torched. Pheeel
GrantyBoy Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 hope they find the driver. Pretty distinct car
Rossco_ Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 There's quite a few blue imprezas going about with all the stickers on (rally'd up min) could take a while to narrow it down although im assuming that if you hit a kid on a bike it would make some sort of impact to the car, surely??
euan_r Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 great just what we need, more attention from the plod. what a twat doing the circuit. hope the kids alright as well.
andy Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 From today's Evening Express: A Teenage cyclist injured his arm after being involved in a hit and run. The 15-year-old was crossing Leslie Road with his bike when he was involved in a collision with a blue Subaru Imprezza. The teenager was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he was treated before being discharged on the same night. The car drove off without stopping down St Machar Drive towards Seaton. Today Grampian Police appealed for witnesses and described the car as "very distinctive" with tinted windows, blue neon underside lighting and various stickers on its bodywork. The incident happened yesterday at around 8.45pm near to the roundabout junction with Great Northern Road Blue neon underside lighting???? Ugh.

st3ph3n Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Because early high mileage classics are falling into the hands of people who aren't car enthusiasts but who are cretins that are besmirching the good name of the marque and that deserve nothing more than two kicks in the stones.

Mmmmm okay then [*-)] Pheeel[]
RS Grant Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Lot of money in Aberdeen though, wouldnt be hard for someone with more money than sense buying a new-age and chavving the nuts off it... After all... Just think about HOW many WR Blue 01-onwards cars there are on the roads now!! (See September Run photo for proof) [] Ok, a few DBM Classics around, but at that time.. in the dark/streetlight.. after being hit by a car travelling at some pace.. I think most people would probably give a knee-jerk reaction that the car was Black. If it was a Sonic Blue, Classic Scoob with Stickers (WRC Job or just a Shopping List on the door) then it shouldnt be toooo hard to track down, IMO. Cheers, Grant

Maybe not apply up in Aberdeen but around my neck of the woods the Buckfast/Burberry crew are now getting thier hands on £2k early imports and adopting the compulsory McRae driving attitude. Shame but it is true.
st3ph3n Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Phil, all I'm saying is that you can pickup an early classic for under 2 grand, which makes it accessible to a lot more people than say an 06 STI. I'm not saying that everyone buying a classic is a ned because that's blatantly not true, but some of the cars are within the price range of your boy racer neon-loving crew now. I'm probably just being elitist []

I well end it here as I see no point getting in to an argument over it. And let’s hope the coppers catch the person responsible. Pheeel[]
st3ph3n Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I shouldn't have tarred all "boy racers" with the same brush as they're not all hooligans. I should report for ITV with shonky representations like that. So agreed.

Watch it mate [] I do admit to a bit of a race yesterday but it was Dale's fault and he's older than me [] Pete Maybe we should go for a cruise looking for the guy.
kinghorn Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 i know the boy down the beach with the full rally stickers, but im sure he dont have neons, and im pretty sure he wouldnt just drive off having knowingly knoked someone off there bike.
