I have a great car, well built, and well set up, and that was a quote from Andy F himself, Am happy with my lot, I dont try to put anyone down, I dont laugh in the face of others when they have a little misfortune. I support, ask to help if i can etc, Can we not all live as one? Its a shame everyone has to try and get one up on each other. I have publicly said that the Sti 9 will get no more mods, i have a map on tap and an AVC-R to get set up and thats it. No more Crail for it. Project classic, That is going to be the car i rip the ar5e out of at Crail, Knockhill etc. I have nothing to prove, I like my car and it will see off many a higher powered car on a track etc, but maybe that has something to do with the mentality of the driver. ally-b Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I 100% agree with you Craig . When I had my car mapped by Andy I asked for it to be mapped for 'real' roads not rolling roads . I have lost count of the number of times I've been asked how much BHP it produces . Personally I don't know and don't care . On real roads however (private ones obviously []) it has shown a clean set of heels to many "more powerful" scoobs . Mine was tuned on a tight budget using mostly secondhand parts as... 1/ I'm poor and 2/ I've no interest in entering into a biggest/fastest/dearest contest. Mine is reasonably quick , handles pretty well and , at the end of the day , as long as I'm happy with it - that is all that matters. Al.

Thats why I went left of field and into an area where I can fettle, hum and haw, bugger about with my car and its never going to be compared to another like it cos its too damn unique. Folk say how quick? I say with the bigger tyres I can now do about 130 flat out and they laugh and say, thats not very good is it. What they fail to grasp is that Im there probabley before they have gripped third gear on thier way to 80mph. And then there are the ones who say, what about crail, prove your car there. Im rubbish at 1/4 miles, and I dont want to break anything else until Ive sorted the drive train reliability, but we all know this makes thier car better than mine. Im happy with my lot. I was just glad that someone got the power figure they were yearning for. certainly not wanting to start a peeing contest. Callum W

Not interested in making it any faster than it already is ( costs too much money). Even with my escort i could have put more power into it but never. STi_Bandit Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Ive always wanted a subaru loved them ever since i was a wee boy and my dad was getting the McRae Special Edition from that moment i loved them and to actuaally own one was a dream come true [] I can say iam not wanting to get more power from it but iam only looking to spend the same as PPP and get more power, thats all iam intrested in then ill be happy with my power output. Ive ridden in a few members cars that have been heavily breathed on and they are truley mind bending awsome and a credit to the owners each and everyone of them. We and they should all be happy they have taken a standard car and turned it into their own special machine for their own needs. Bandit

I was shocked to hear people are like this. I always wanted a Scooby so bought a MY00 with PPP and would not have a clue about bhp. All I know that its bloody quick and I love the thrill of the acceleration. I'm 40 and just put a dump valve on it, I havn't a clue what its supose to do all I know it sounds great (wife thinks I'm reliving my youth again). So what!!!!. I'm enjoying my car and would not care what anyone else thinks............

It would be rather strange if they didn't want to share it with the community. 2) The source of such a complaint. I don't think there is anyone more vocal about the changes they have made to their car, than you. Lastly, the people who are seemingly in support of your rant have posted many times about the things they have done to their cars, so I'm a bit puzzled. That's my obervation for what its worth. J

There was time when 300 was the magical mark but now this has risen to the 400 area as the point to aim for. If it was not for the pushing the envelope we will all still be running around in std cars and people like yourself, Gumball and Peter that help us understand what the operational tolerances are for the New Age car and more importantly how well a certain turbo responds on a STI and what results are expected from certain applications on certain engines. From a third party point of view, i am interested in how the New Age STI Type UK cars being built and developed by different tuners using different turbos, different management systems and more importantly different mappers. Craig, from a personal stand point, i like your style and your attitude towards your gaining power from your desired mode of transportation. It is the pushing the envelope that makes Scottishscoobies a really interesting place to be at the moment with so many high powered cars kicking about all over the region Ally, so how much BHP does your car have then? Wilky, you are in a league of your own, the league of extraordinary gentlemen Me, i just love how ugly my car is but i really need to get out more often. To summerise................I find if you pee without removing your trousers and undercrackers then you are gonna show everyone who the daddy is, judging by the size of the stain down the right leg and if you pull the foreskin back as far as possible i can pee a good 30ft vertically Personally not interested in beating anyone, Wilky moved them goalposts well out of reach, all i want is a reliable 300bhp and thats what i have.
