Guest greegsy Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Bought these from stripe a couple of weeks ago - had spoiler fitted through the week. Can't make up my mind about scoop though. I think it looks a bit ott!! What do you think?
col666 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Love the boot spoiler but the scoop looks daft.....sorry!
scoobyfuzzy Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 greegsy, if u decide not to keep the scoop on, let me know, i may be interested in buying off u. fuzzy
lescazscoob Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 personally i think it looks class but then it is exactly what im after for my own one lol! lovely car btw
Dougie C Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Looks very nice but not sure about the scoop either but think I could get used to it. Spoiler looks very cool!! Dougie
Guest greegsy Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Thanks for the comments guys - scoobyfuzzy give me a few weeks and I'll see if I get used to the scoop. If I don't I'll be in touch! Greegsy
shaun_odonnell Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Forget how it looks, as long as it can direct loads of cool air through the intercooler at high speeds, get's my vote!! I've read that classics suffer from loss of air through the standard scoop at speeds over 120 or so mph, causing huge intake temps and finally ca-boom. I've fitted a later, taller scoop to my P1 and just painted it black. If it does it's job, keep it, as long as you can see over it of course!!! ha ha
Guest greegsy Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Still getting used to it. Can't see the pavement or kerb though!!!
scoobyfuzzy Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Quote Thanks for the comments guys - scoobyfuzzy give me a few weeks and I'll see if I get used to the scoop. If I don't I'll be in touch!Greegsy ok , no probs fuzzy
paul_honthy Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Sorry mate.......... Spoiler-[] Scoop-[:|]
craigwrx Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Have to agree, sorry mate but the scoop looks like it has been stuck on and does not mould in with the car, if u get my drift ... Love the spoiler thou [y] Craig []
frank c Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Sorry mate but i don't like either , but i do prefer the standard look though. I prefer carbon on a Black car. Frank
RA Dunk Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 spoiler looks ok, but the bonnet scoop looks [+o(],
gus the bus Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Not my cup of tea I'm afraid! Sorry[:$] wouldnt do if we were all the same tho would it[] Gus
scooby222 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 like the carbon scoop but id go for a smaller one "I've read that classics suffer from loss of air through the standard scoop at speeds over 120 or so mph, causing huge intake temps and finally ca-boom. " not too convinced about that but i may be wrong,i ran my classics at over 120 for an hour continuosly on several occasions without any probs
RA Dunk Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 could be something in it recently i had mine up to 140+(ish) on a private road of course and started getting engine knock, as soon as i backed off it was fine again, im still on a top mount BTW

scooby222 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 private stretch of road abroad in the middle of the night, the time vs distance backs up the speedo-130 miles in roughly an hour. done it several times without probs but no knock sensor so it may be i just didnt know about them!
ally-b Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I like , its similar to my scoop . I have mine to duct as much air as poss into my top-mount for reasons mentioned above - more than just aesthetics . I'd have them painted DBM to match the car though , but then I spose that the carbon is meant to be seen . . . So ultimately it is up to you , it is your car [] Al.
euan_r Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Quote i ran my classics at over 120 for an hour continuosly on several occasions without any prob why does this not surprise me lol. ps. i dont like carbon look, a bit too stuck on, colour coded is the way to go. nice and shiny though[Y]
dan_jess Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Dont think the power bulge suits any classic to be honest []
fai17 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 looks not to bad but could do with colour coded then that would be waste of carbon fibre []
Guest greegsy Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 Scoop now for sale - can't get used to it! Think it really needs to be on a black classic. Check out the for sale section. Greegsy
