Centre pipe question - Fastscooby/Wagonwheels

When selecting a decat mid section lately, I had the same worries, so I went to Hypertech in Bonnybridge and got the low down from Duncan.  When looking online, I found it a little confusing, not being the mechanic type.

I would try giving him a call and tell him what you got, he will give you the info no probs should you not get a answer tonight here mate.

Stephen, your blobeye doesnt have a cat in the centre section!!!!! Just a resonator box.

The cat is in the short section infront of that "cat pipe" then the next one up is in the downpipe and then forward of the turbo in the uppipe. As per Martins drawing below[:D]

Its only the classics that have a CAT in the centre section. Hope this helps!

If it helps everyone it's about as long as my boot is wide as that's where it's currently sitting. Certain it's just the unresonated centre though.

So if anyone has the cat removal pipe that would remove the 3rd cat on a WRX or the 2nd on an STI - the one after the downpipe - going quite cheap then I could be interested.

Unless removing the 3rd cat and keeping the other 2 is likely to **** things up? (Boost spike etc.)

Stephen, you will get the cat pipe section for £100 brand new. Keep the unresonated section if you want the extra deep burble and get a cat pipe.

I got both for CraigWRX recently. If your struggling to get one give me a bell.

To answer: Yes Stephen that is just an unresonated centre section that you have. What you are looking for is the "cat pipe section" Removing the 3rd cat has absolutely no negative effect and gives a few more horses.

As I said if you need one its c.£100 for one brand new.

Will maybe be in touch Gus. Was going to get it fitted on Saturday but might just hold off and try and get the cat removal for next week and get both done.

Not complaining because at £60 for a basically brand new miltek centre section it's still a fantastic price and there's no way I'm handing it back in disgust!

Neither would I[;)] well worth the £60 even just for the note change[:D]. both parts combined make a nice mod and give a slightly deeper note too[H]. I got both done @ the same time as it saves ripping the exhaust to bits twice.

If you let me know by Sunday re cat pipe I can get one to you for midweek.

Cheers

Ive just taken a Ninja Backbox, H&S center section and H&S cat back off my old bugeye.

I had the backbox then wanted some more noise. Taking the cat out certainly makes a difference.

They are all in pretty good nick. Only on the car a year. Someone is trying them out on thier WRX just now.

I might have it coming up for sale within the next week depending on how loud this guy wants his exhaust.

£50 for Cat back cost me £105 from Scoobyworld.

Will let you know ASAP.

I was very pleased with the 2 sections Gus managed to get for me, had them fitted @
Hypertech, Ducan even commented on the sections, saying they where of a very
high quality ..and he has seen plenty ...

I got a centre section from H+S, def no cats or silencers in that, what came off looked like it may have had a silencer in it but thats about it. Did make a slight difference, but car didn't feel right before so am wondering if there was a problem with the original part. am planning to head back this weekend and get what they call a "Newage cat pipe" which I believe is to replace the cat you are talking about. A much shorter pipe than the one you have in your boot.

One of these

and hoping to get one of these

Sorry to get things wrong ref the mid section, quite new to these things.Thought you had a cat on the mid section like me.Not a problem to refund if you cant use it....me bad [:)]

No probs mate. As I said, still a good price. It takes away the silencing, and with the addition of a cat replacement pipe I'll be laughing.
