lescazscoob Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 we have been looking for a wee runabout as the scoob is due to go in for bumpers, mods etc etc and i cannot be without a car! so i had one of those impulse buys a 1.1 cinq sporting its bright yellow bodykit etc, it was a friends dad who was selling it(barry fimster autotint) and is quite a nippy wee thing a whole 69BHP!!!! this was proven as it has been on the rollers the funniest thing of all though is that the insurance for a whole year on this is the same as a months payment on the scoob!! i could not stop laughing when on the phone to the ins company. a bit of one extreme to the other but anything for a laugh!![:$] it doesnt have graphics now http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/fimmo/rollingcinq.jpg
gus the bus Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Great wee car I had one back in 199? and I think Oobster had one (possibly 2!?!) Fun for feck all cash[Y] OK certainly not the fastest car around but you'll have a laugh none the less. Gus
craigwrx Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 hehe it is rather ugly, but for a cheap run about, u cant go far wrong with this motor [Y]
oobster Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 I did indeed own a Cinq - wasn't a sporting though. Just a wee crappy 1.0litre black one. It was a lot of fun though, I had it lowered with Abarth alloys and all side windows + the rear were tinted to the darkest possible. How much did you pay for it lezcazscoob?
paddy247 Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Great wee car, when I was a student Just last year. I had one of these which I used to get to college and back every day, to save using the scooby, as I didnt want it siting in the college car park geting vandalised ect. Mine was green wooo hooooooooo.
lescazscoob Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 paid 500? it has 8months mot and is taxed very cheap to run and insure etc, etc wasnt what i thought i would end up with but not disappointed. kids love it and it has talking alarm so the think its hilarious to scare people. they are also well impressed with red seatbelts (easily amused) i think it looks better with the kit etc on it and probably wouldnt have bought it standard, have had so many people asking when im selling it because they all want it so dont think ill have a problem selling it on either!! will get my own pics up so you can see it without the grapthics
oobster Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 How long are you planning to keep it? MIGHT (stress might) be interested in taking it off your hands if your only keeping it for a short while.
lescazscoob Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 as long as it takes to get this scooby to the way he wants it so who knows LOL will let you know anyway!!
mrs. jc scoob Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 I had a cinq sporting for years it was my first car and I can honsetly say that I had as much fun with it as I do in my scoob,it wasnt fast but handled great as it was lowered and had big fat yokohamas on it,I wish I had kept it for running around in as it was minted ![]
david_taylor Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 About 8 years ago my mate wrote of a 2 year old M3, then a 8 month old Impreza in the space on 8 months = £40,000 pound worth of cars! Obviously it was near impossible to get insurance after that. So he ended up with a wee black one of these. I will never forget the first time I saw him blasting down the road in it with the tunes blaring...hilarious! He loved it right enough.
lescazscoob Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 got some pics of it today up the park so you can see it!!!
gus the bus Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 That brings back many memories[] mine was yellow too I had mine on full spax suspension. Front n rear Sparco strut braces. Group N exhaust and Sparco white competition wheels and K&N 57i kit and tinted windows. Sure it must have been upto nearly 80bhp[][][] That looks in bloody good nick for the age.[Y]........and yes I would have another one. not fast but chuck about fun for feck all candy Gus
st3ph3n Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 You are all utterly mad. The two fiats I have driven have been the most horrendously unsafe, piss poor built utterly horrible things I've ever driven. I wouldn't even be a passenger in one now.
oobster Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Na, if I can afford that when lezcazscoob is selling it, i'm having that. Definitely.
gus the bus Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 The two fiats I have driven have been the most horrendously unsafe, piss poor built utterly horrible things I've ever driven. I wouldn't even be a passenger in one now. Na the Cinq was a great wee car. The worst car I have ever owned was the Fiat Bravo Abarth. Now that was totally Sh*te. Even the Fiat panda I had in 1842[:$] was better than that. Gus
oobster Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 The Cinq is indeed a great car.... most of the time! http://www.scotcruise.com/featurecars/alai...cinq/cinq18.jpg
