peter_macgowan Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Im going to order a front splitter for my car and wondering whether to paint or not to paint. Any comments ?
wrxmania Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Don't aint - top one looks like a shovel at the front. Brian []
STi_Bandit Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I got the Scott Lowe front splitter on my STi and i have to say IMHO i much preffer it left black over colour coding it. Leaving it black looks mint :-) Martin
micra_wrc Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 i'm going to be different and say paint it [] a colour coded one blends in a bit more and is better on the eye than a black one
dipsy Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I say paint it and is that a JDM newage sti or the rear windows tinted after you got it
oobster Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I say paint it and is that a JDM newage sti or the rear windows tinted after you got it Dipsy... fairly confident neither of those cars belong to Spince - they are probably just pics he has found on the net somewhere.
RS Grant Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 As a firm follower of colour coding everything.... I say, leave it black and un-painted. lol [] Cheers, Grant
stripe Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I think leave it unpainted, makes it stand out a lot more. Very nice car by the way!
thewelsho Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 IMO it looks way better NOT painted, I'd leave it. Plus, it will save yo utime hassle and money to leave as is. I like the reggie in the non-painted pic: ROBO COP How cool! ED-209 had better watch out! J
craigwrx Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I am also putting an order for one [Y] same colour scooby as u, i most certainly am not going to colour code it ...i think by doing so you could also create problems for urself, if u catch the bottom of it, or even stone chips, u will always be touching it up ...just my opinion of course ... Craig
gus the bus Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Dont know if its just the angle its pictured @ but I actually prefer it painted. left in Black it looks huge like the rim of a wheely bin. As I say might just be the angle of the pic!? Gus
spooks Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Well as per usual Im gonna disagree with gus [] , not painted gets my vote. Looks the muts nuts if I say so myself

gus the bus Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 TBH if both pics were taken fro the same position I'd probably go for the black[]
peter_macgowan Posted August 3, 2006 Author Posted August 3, 2006 Yup got those pics of scoobynet took me ages to find ones with splitter on it. http://bbs.scoobynet.com/my06-corner-t492589.html My car is blue 06 though. Im wondering what exhaust to get as well. I had the Ninja backbox and H&S decat centre section on my 02 WRX. I dont think any of it will fit on the STI.
thefastone Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I think you should Paint it.... With a 6" brush.... But seriously, I think that it just looks out of place in black, Like you are too stingy to lash the cash for the paint..... [:$] So yeah...
