steve_walsh Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 wondering if anyone has any opinions on which is best? im not to sure as this is the first scooby i have owned. the engine is away getting fully rebuilt and i dont fancy another detonation.
dougster Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 Need more information on the build? If it's standard then standard ECU will suffice.
steve_walsh Posted May 29, 2006 Author Posted May 29, 2006 as far as i know its api engines that r doing the rebuild and im getting strenghtened con rods, pistons for an 99sti, lightened flywheel, racing bearings, uprated crank and ported head. my cars a 93 import wrx.
drb5 Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 Get an air/fuel ratio meter fitted and a knocklink too and use octane booster, till you gt it mapped, or if you find it's fuelling fine and not detting, you may get away without a remap.....it is possible.
steve_walsh Posted May 29, 2006 Author Posted May 29, 2006 i am planning on getting all the gauges, knocklink and apexi ecu but im running low on cash as ive just bought the car and the rebuild + all labour is costing me just over £8000. where is the best place to get the octane booster and what price? i think ill run the engine in with the booster and get a remap once simon at japerformance thinks its ready for it.
P1 NUT Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 It will need to get mapped anyway to get the fueling etc right and the other perameters i think.
