Gumball Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 With any luck the deathstar will either be sold on SIDC, autotrader or care of Halleys. When the time comes..................... which? exact colours and models not included
G.T. Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 focus sti3 has to be the orange one though with the leather recaros and you even get 3 guagues just incase youre missing the scoob too much.
slo2 Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Try WWW.Streetrodproductions.com Allready modded and convertables.......some even suitable for carrying the golf clubs
p1ggm Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 if i was you i would by an older merc estate for comfort/cruising, and an r32gtr for fun
col666 Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Dont think much of your shortlist there Gumball. Merc = Taxi Audi - Look good but not a drivers car at all, slow, heavy, expensive. An RS4 is different but 50k will be out your budget?! Ford ST- I quite like these and 2 of my mates have them, but will drop in value like a....scoob! BMW - Bit bland, not very quick unless you get an M3. Have you thought about a BMW M roadster? Boxster S? BMW Z4? An older Audi RS4? Clio V6 225?
st3ph3n Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 The latest C that my dad has drives nicely. The earlier ones of this current generation drive like total dogs. I think the reason is because it has the sport pack. Get one with the 6.3 AMG block in it. That's not going to be slow you'd imagine.
RA Dunk Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 wot about another scoob?? classic perhaps a 22 b?? at least these hold there value more than most cars out there
Gumball Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 the scoob will go, the normal car will come in...........another scoob for fun will be gotten a short while later. i want something that isnt too quick for normal driving and license retention that looks tidy. a stripped out RA will then be order of the day for KH, Crail etc
colin_ross Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 All of them will feel dog slow and leave you wanting more sooner or later. If its just for a sensible everyday car I'd go for the ST as its the cheapest as well as the fastest of the lot.
Racing Snake Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 ST is not that cheap at nearly 20k. I'd get a civic Type R or if you want something a bit bigger an Accord.
gus the bus Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 I've always liked the Audi's[] but canny see you living with it after the Deathstar tbh.
colin_ross Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 ST is not that cheap at nearly 20k. £17.5k is mega cheap for a 2.5 turbo and the Civic may not be out for months yet, besides, it's not on Gummy's list. I know what I've have.
ANDYJDMSTI Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Boxsters are for shirt lifting willy warmers, they also say you are too povvy to afford a 911 [] What about having a look around for a second hand M Coupe, drove my mates afew years back and was impressed. He had it fettled to over 400 brake. []
bigbadboab Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Chris, I would go for the very first car in all your choices, but you will have to watch the speed bumps as they will take the front off, plus I heard the MPG is a bit OTT. You will have to spend a bit extra to get lights and indicators put on though I'll get my coat.......................... Audi all the way. Absolutley outstanding build quality.
jamie_wood Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 The Audi or the BMW all the way[] Anyone who says they are shit will no doubt just be jealous[] Go for a big diesel, ie a 330 BM and get it remapped. It will destroy a Scooby.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 It will destroy a Scooby..................on a dry - straight - A road - if the Scooby isn't modified - []
nicholas_frame Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 I've got to throw in my tuppenceworth and suggest you go for a Honda Integra Type-R DC5. You'll get an import for less than the ST, the car will start first time everytime, probably out-live you and has enough comfort, style and performance to keep you happy. There also aren't too many around so has that "ooh, what's that?" factor. Dicksons of Dunblane are quoting just shy of £20k for a new one. The following link shows a delivery miles only example for £19k: http://www.dicksonsmotorgroup.co.uk/vehicl...8199&popup= P.S. I'm not affiliated in any way - honestly!!!
dan_jess Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Blue DC5's r very smart! If ur defo goin by the shortlist then i'd pick the ST []
jamie_wood Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 [8-)] Range Rover or and X 5 ? Only problem is that they also attract jealous folks
