derek_robertson Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Here are some of the many pictures taken at Kames.
Rice Rocket Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 What a great day had by all and a MASSIVE thanks to Derek for organising the day!! Looks like the cars with show do have the go too!! '-) Rice Rocket
st3ph3n Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Del, it was a fantastic day. The ayrshire boys and girls and everyone else who helped out should be immensely proud of what was achieved, not just in the money raised but by how much fun it was. I had a great time and my little cousin wouldn't stop talking about everything he'd seen. He was particularly taken by the mystical 22b. Like the rest of us I suppose. Again, great work! Stephen
JohnSt Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 There's a thing you don't see everyday.... the Rice Rocket on Track !!! []

derek_robertson Posted May 10, 2006 Author Posted May 10, 2006 Thanks for all the kind replies folks. It took a huge effort from all involved to get this event at Kames off the ground. A big thankyou goes to the following people: John Stevenson, East Ayrshire Car Clubs Chairman, for giving us free use of the Sprint & New Rally Tracks. All the Rally Drivers who turned up on the day with their expensive machinery to give passenger rides to the public in aid of Cancer Research. All the EACC marshalls & staff who helped out. SIDC for providing the insurance cover, sending up the marquee & providing us with a cracking trophy which was won by Rallye 6 (Brian Smith) Ian from the Valetstore.com for judging the Show & Shine Competition, providing the Meguiars prizes for 1st,2nd & 3rd & picking the Best Subaru of the Day Trophy winner. Ian also gave everyone who enterd the competition a couple of polishing applicators. All the dealers/organisations who gave us prizes for the Raffle. Big Andy & Malky for organising the Show & Shine Competition. Rice Rocket for sorting out the Barbeque. Scobymadburd for organising the Raffle tickets & prize draw. Spooks & Rosie for helping out all day & for providing the home baking. Big Andy for the hilarious commentating at various times throughout the day. All the rest that I've forgotten to mention who helped out prior to & on the day. Finally I would like to thank my wife Carole who has endured endless nights of me sitting at the computer either emailing, pm-ing or phoning people to get their backsides into gear. It was truely all worth it just to see the kids faces waiting eagerly to get into those rally cars & even better when they got out of them.........gobsmacked!!!!!!! Cheers, Del
