MY94 Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 i just filled up with my usual optimax & millers octane booster. But,I think the wee plastic seal on the millers between the cap and bottle also went into the petrol tank! Its like a small round piece of plastic. I'm presuming thats what a fuel filter is for,but I'm worried! So any guidance on what to do gratefully recieved. Cheers in advance.
woody-cdas Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Short of draining the tank or removing the back seat and taking out the sender unit to fish it out, theres probably not a lot you can do mate. IMHO I don't think it will cause any problems. I'm sure someone will have an expert view. Good luck fella. Cheers, Matt.
MY94 Posted April 13, 2006 Author Posted April 13, 2006 thats what I was hoping............. ANYONE USING MILLERS BOOSTER BE CAREFUL AND NOT DO THE SAME.
dipsy Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Never come across this .Unsrew the cap no plastic bit and pour it in before optimax
paul_honthy Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I was just thinking that Dipsy, never had any plastic caps under the lid on any of the bottles ive used.
MY94 Posted April 13, 2006 Author Posted April 13, 2006 It's a white circular plastic seal that sits in the cap stopping any leakages. It's part of the cap,but this time when I removed the cap it stayed on the bottle, when I poured it in I noticed it,but it was too late by then. When I got home I opened another bottle, the white plastic seal was inside the cap,but with a small wiggle with my fingers I managed to remove it.It's like opening a screw top milk carton,u unscrew the cap, then have to remove the white strip.Same thing ,but on the millers the white bit sits in the cap and isn't attached to the bottle..........if that makes any sense.
MY94 Posted April 13, 2006 Author Posted April 13, 2006 As you can see,the one on the left is missing the white plastic seal.
dougster Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I know exactly what you mean and edited your picture to show. It shouldn't be a problem. Try filling to the max and see if the beggar shows up!!!
MY94 Posted April 13, 2006 Author Posted April 13, 2006 Thanks Dougster and good idea,I'll give that a try on my way to Knockhill tomorrow.U never know, the wee blighter might just float to the top.........I'll let u know. Cheers :-)
