Gumball Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Good to see everyone today in Dalgety Gay. Great effort by the "tea ladies" with some fantastic cakes which i enjoyed one or two of throughout the day. Great idea. Hope you all got what you were looking for today on the rollers? Thanks to the guys at Dastek for thier help and knowledge. No, i havent forgot about you 666, im sure things will get sorted for you. Goodbye, im off to Peters for a half duck, prawn crackers and some nonsense from the squirrel.
col666 Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 [] Dont think I will bother buying a lottery ticket tonight[] Big thanks to RS Grant for giving me a lift home in the beemer. Would go out and get very drunk but have to work in the morning! Col.[]
oobster Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Gutted for you Col, i hope you get things sorted quickly [] Here are a couple of pics i took, with the reggies blanked-out. Nice to meet some new faces today and thanks to the ladies for the tea & cakes! Just dont tell dawn how much cake i had []
ed-209 Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Yep big hand to spooks for arranging this and to the ladies for the very ample supply of cakes and coffee. Good to meet so many new faces and get a chance to talk to them. Let the fun and games commence (mods). Ed.
Hepy Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Yeah it was a top day. My first rolling road day, and hopefully not my last. I forgot to take any pictures of my car so if anybody has any decent ones please post them up or send me them. I had the Y reg P1. Thanks. Graham.
wrxmania Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Big thanks to Rosie and Jim (well, Spooks) for organising the day, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, baking, heating and whatever else was supplied. The day worked out well in spite of many disappointing last minute call offs... Well Done [] Brian []
FastScooby Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Brilliant day at Dastek, Thanks to Paul and Gerry and also thanks to rose for the tea, and a big thanks to Scott for arranging the day [] Great turnout cracking cars, good to meet some more new faces. But i do feel gutted for Col666 [] Thanks also to Peter and Grant for a spin in their rockets []
bigbadboab Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Sorry I missed it, wanted to come, but still not in the mood. Glad you all had a good day. We need results posted and what happened to Col666 car?????
Johnny50 Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Yup, was a good day. Thanks to all for organising, next time i`m bringin a jumper !! Tea and cakes were ace. [] Happy with my results...good base from me to work on, may even put some decent fuel in next time. [] Also good to see some new faces, and catch up on the old ones.
andrew_lally Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Had a good day....met a few lads and made 310.8 on the rollers....which suerprised me a little!! unfortunately i blew my gearbox on the way homw hahahaha...oops any help on matching gearboxes to diffs etc would be greatly appreciated!!! got a box out of a low milage 99 model but not sure if ratios will match!! see you all nexr time!! regards andy (a.k.a baldyadonis)
wrxmania Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 ...may even put some decent fuel in next time. [] Also good to see some new faces, and catch up on the old ones. Good fuel may be a good idea - worth at least 0.2 BHP... Brian []
steven_williams Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Sounds like I missed a hell of a day. Lets hope for the next one the weather is better and I can get down. Is a performance list going to be produced and posted?
dave_morgan Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 C'mon guys, were your figures THAT BAD !!!!???!!!! Dave
Johnny50 Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I made 249.1bhp/229.4ft.lb with full decat, sti8 tmic and 95ron tesco fuel. Was very happy with that, car was running spot on too which was my main concern.
oobster Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I was persuaded to put my car on the rollers, despite being 100% sure before i attended that i wouldnt put it on. I got 249.1bhp/230.0lb/ft Reasonably happy with that []
Gumball Posted March 5, 2006 Author Posted March 5, 2006 I got 357bhp/293lbft today. Gerry very kindly played around with my car for a good while to see what was going down and for that i am greatful. I knew it wasnt playing the game and he was kind enough to sit like Ray Charles in the cockpit with the detcans on his ears and see what was happening. Everything seems to be fine other than it would appear my ECU has retarded due to picking up det and backed itself off 3-4 degrees. approx 45-60bhp. So i need to run about with £5 in the tank and run it out, £5 run it out, £5 and so on......... then start putting the right juice in with booster like it was mapped. It isnt always easy to have octance booster every tank but it shows the danger if your cars mapped with it and you run about with gash in it[:$] Peeved on one hand it never produced 400 but on the other im happy my car is bust as i feared this week. Thanks for the Fish Gumball
andrew_lally Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 remap without octane booster...would this solve problem??? obviously less power but less chance of det....or am i talkin sh@t again hahaahhah thought the figures would have been up by now!!! old my95 wrx made a reasonable 310.8bhp!!!! woohoo regards andy ps...nobody got a gearbox for me?
scoobyseller555 Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 dastec must have got there rollers fixed gummy...[][][]
Gumball Posted March 5, 2006 Author Posted March 5, 2006 it should just rebuild/come out its shell again when it starts to live in a det free zone. This will happen once i am completely rid of the texaco sh@t that went into the tank a couple of weeks ago down south and plenty of booster with every tank rather than just when i can be bothered, lol. It was mapped with booster and should be given booster. I kinda think as well that the STI tmic is only good for 350, 360, 370 max max max so wont be helping. Time for the fmic to be purchased and fired on. the tmic is now for sale in the "for sale and wanted"section with the Turbo XS bov
WRC No 1 Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 it was a good day apart from the cold. big thanks to Rosie & Spooks and cant for get Lyndsay. it was my first time on the rollers with the wagon the out come was not what i thought it would be. but i think its time for remap and other mods lol. i only got BHP/262.5 Torque/256.3 [] WELL DONE TO EVERY ONE ps good to meet some new people to wullie
Johnny50 Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Wullie, I would`ve thought that was a good result. What mods are you running ?
the squiggle Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Was not planning on going on but as usual the bug bit and i had too strap her down. The car is mapped to 1.4bar but this is running the injectors at 99.9% duty. This close tolerance is cool for ramping it up on the road but i did not fancy putting her on the rollers running so close to the wind. 293.9bhp and 270lbs/ft at 1.1bar peak and 1.0bar stable Well happy as a starting point with fuelling and ignition all spot on courtesy of Mr Forrest. Next to buy and fit is 550 or 740 injectors and maybe strap the already purchased 20G on it for a laugh. Got to natter away like a monkey on speed to some old friends and scare the hell out of some new friends. Strange to see a RA turn up in the car park with the exact same alloys and the exact same bodykit as my car, if you are reading this mate then welcome and smart car. Higgy, pleasure as always my Welsh friend. Hats off to Spooks for arranging another top day and to the Rosie and Lindsay for the excellent coffee and cakes Ed-209, thats a fair hike for a WRX with a backbox and panel filter. Excellent starting point. Dieselpower, Stunning car but i reckon a phone call to Subaru in order i reckon, 10-1 afr is not healthy, seen worse, and your Exhaust Gas Temp was a hot to touch even coming out the backbox. I wont even mention the Type-R-Scotland sticker on the rear screen........oooopppsss sorry. Col666, pleasure to chat today sir STEVO, keep punting those warrenties and maybe one day you will have raised enough to get that long awaited hair transplant. Grant { the guy wearing the sleepng bag for a jacket, ho hum it was warm in there }
