lescazscoob Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 oh well thats me now got my 3 years ncb and still having a bloody nightmare getting insurance? i only have the 2litre scoob and you would probalbly drop if you knew what i was paying for insurance? i have to put hubby on my policy and he has a lovely record behind him but the cheapest i can possibly get at the moment is £927.00 with norwich union the most expensive one was £4230 this is madness! (i have no points, accidents etc) any help of insurance companies would be great as i really want a wrx but the way i am with just the 2 litre makes it seem a long way off thanks!
col666 Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Try Keith Michaels.com or .co.uk, cant remember. Elephant .com are pretty good too. Col.
lescazscoob Posted February 16, 2006 Author Posted February 16, 2006 elephant.co.uk wouldnt do it? will try other thanks!
RA Dunk Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 r u a full member? if so theres a thread in private section about insurance with sidc membership maybe worth lookin into it theres been alot of very happy so far
SergeantScooby Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 i will formally introduce myself when i pick up my first scooby next week, i aint sleeping so good in anticipation, however having spent a week searching and phoning for insurance i have tried a at least 15 different companys and keith micheals was the best by far, knocked about 200 of nearest quote, ask for gary moulsen he is the scooby specialist and enthusist. tell him sergeantscooby with the new ra recommended you and i might get some of mine too http://www.keithmichaels.co.uk/ honestly i dont work for them. I will post about myself and new motor hopefully next week, and i will be requiring all you scooby experts help as i plan to get to know the car and do work on it and i know you all would love to pass on the advice (i hope) new car is a my00 wrx type ra
paul_honthy Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Try Bell mate, mine was about £460 fully comp and ive only got 3 years NCB.
dougster Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Another vote for Gary at Keith Michaels. Straight to the point, very efficient and the cheapest IMHO.
lescazscoob Posted February 16, 2006 Author Posted February 16, 2006 will try but main prob is hubby being on insurance its one thing being 22 f with 3years ncb but as soon as you put a 21m with a bad history behind him then they all laugh and take the p*ss this is the main reason we went to the sport and not the turbo? if i was on alone i would be aroun £4-500 but it doubles+++++++ when i put him on? welcome sergent scoob u all excited lol!!!
SergeantScooby Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 i am all excited just want this week over and done so i can get hold of it next week, i to was on 3 years ncb and 1 sp30, but i suppose depending on other half's history you could be looking at high price, maybe try some of these performance car mags they always got adverts for insurers who cover people with " history". other than that get him a ford ka and keep the scooby yourself
scoobymadburd Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 im 21 3 years ncb and diamond offered me £1000 for fully comp on our turbo uk my 97 try diamond!! Claire
Baz81 Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 I got my insurance through a company called Zenith. which was through quotezone.co.uk I've sent off for a quote from Keith Micheals. se what happens. I found that Insurance companys aren't keen on insuring you on Turbos till your over 25. (5 months to go)..
Gumball Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 elephant have just played the game and renewed me for 796quid Yaldi !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That includes european coverage for the NURBURGRING AND WRC GERMANY[][]
gus the bus Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Admiral online for me! Well worth a try! (same group as Elephant and Bell but all gave different quotes[] but Admiral were cheapest by £62 for the same level of cover. £438 all in![] Gus
sma01 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 what are Keith Michaels like for modified cars?are you able to get a guaranteed value on your car? scott
NightOwl Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Although having the most nippy advert on the telly, confused.com did it for me. £438. If I was you, I'd just insure it yourself and get hubby up Kinross auctions and get a cheap banger for him until he learns to behave!![]
lescazscoob Posted February 18, 2006 Author Posted February 18, 2006 hello all thanks for all the help but im about 900 so not too bad eapecially for what his licence is like (if i old u he would be kicked off lol!!) his points come off by end of year so hope it will be better soon? nightowl thought about that but he pays the insurance and works and i dont so i cant complaine lol!!
