corsa Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Talk to Alan Hunter at Hunter Reid coackworks in Strathaven, he carried out a very good repair on my last wagon and he know how pernickety i was. Top job and highly reccommended. Hunter Reid Paint/Bodyshop & Tyre Centre 1, Station Rd, Strathaven, Lanarkshire ML10 6BE Tel: 01357 528899
Johnny50 Posted February 13, 2006 Author Posted February 13, 2006 Excellent. Thanks a lot. Any ideas on prices ?
cameron_leask Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 anywhere decent around Edinburgh/Central Scotland etc.. Johnny50 I recently used Steve Walker's Bodyshop in Bathgate to sort out some stuff on my Focus. Warmly recommended. I'll be taking my P1 there next time (for its annual stonechipped-spoiler respray[]) You can mention my name if you like, not sure what good it might do you!
corsa Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Excellent. Thanks a lot. Any ideas on prices ? Best give him a call and say Davie Hatrick put his name forward.Depends on what method of payment suits you
Johnny50 Posted February 13, 2006 Author Posted February 13, 2006 Thanks Guys. Have heard good things about Stevie Walkers, i`ll try them both though.
vicki Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Thanks for this info (address of place in Strathaven) I am going to go this week for a price to get my side skirts painted []
oobster Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 I also use Stevie Walkers in Bathgate - he colour-coded the front grille, scott-lowe splitter and roof-spoiler on my car. He also re-done the sti front bumper corner-pieces on my car. Not entirely sure I would use him again though, his work used to be top-notch and while it's still resonably good it's not the same standard as he used to be (IMHO). Maybe i'm just being pernickety though, which is entirely possible.
wrxmania Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 A F Nobles bodyshop & Derek the manager there is very good. Not sure on price but the job would be A1. Brian.

gus the bus Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Like Andy and Leasky,I've used Stevie Walker for years. Did a great job of my front splitter recently but a couple of minor "defects" on my rear spoiler. He did knock £40 off the spoiler for this tho[]. But I'm a fussy get when it comes to painting. I have two more spoilers and a splitter going into him this week so I'll be making sure its a top job as they are for Bigbadboabs and Spacemans cars!!!! I think on a whole car respray he would be good. made a great job of ma maws Saab and ma faither-in-laws Merc. Other painter I have used is Tom Pollock @ Protek in Bathgate. He did custom paint on my bike (superb job at very good price) but took fookin ages!!!! Gus

lescazscoob Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 if you nip to m.a bodyshop in dysart kirkcaldy(might be a bit far?) thats who i bought my scoob from and its brilliant!! they painted it and put a gold flake through it. they also own scoobs that make you drool as you drive up!! would reccomend them highly!
sma01 Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 there is a place in Denny that is meant to be pretty good, will try and find out the name of it....also might be worth speaking to P1 SUB, think he has had some of his car painted and was pleased with the job scott
Johnny50 Posted February 14, 2006 Author Posted February 14, 2006 Thanks for the info chaps...good stuff. Much appreciated. Am going to make a few calls this week, and visit a few on friday to get some estimates. []
VAL113R Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Depends how far you're willing to travel. If you're up in Dundee I'd recommend Dundee Autobody. They've just moved up beside GAP at Lorne Street. Ian painted my Subaru and it was an excellent joy and reasonably priced. I got a full respray with a few other bits done.
oobster Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 val113r, car looks mint mate scott Yup, that is a smart motor you got there.
