Neofox Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Afternoon people. First off, well done to the techies and all involved in moving the forums over very swift and nice job. Just a quick question about storing my car. I'm changing jobs and will now only be using the Scooby and a pure weekend car once in a while so it wont be moving around much. Basically after some advice and what the best way to store it or things that should be done to it to keep it fresh and happy. I'm hoping to get a garage to put it into and was also wondering if anyone knew where i could buy a car cover for it. Any advice or info would be greatly appreciatted. Cheers [] Ian
scooby222 Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 one thing to definitely invest in is an optimate battrey charger/maintainer, you leave it hooked up all the time and it monitors the battrey charge and tops it up as required. killed three battries on my bike before i got one of these, nothing worse than a no start on a sunny day!
rossyboy1 Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 Mine has been sitting for the last 4 months inside without turning a wheel and I have disconnected the battery. I have re-connected the battery and started it roughly every 2 weeks and run for 5-10 mins (Wuz advised every week, but I couldnt be arsed with that []). It has started first time every time and run perfectly so far.
the squiggle Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 I deliver to a guy out in Lanark that drives his Scooby into a huge plastic bag and uses the Dyson to suck all the air out Strange but true Grant
gus the bus Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 LMAO PMSL Really Yip its the best way to store a car! Dry storage basically! I used to do this when I had my Mk11 Mini Cooper. Kept the car in perfect nick[]
oobster Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 It's called a Carcoon - see here http://www.carstoragescotland.co.uk/storage.htm I use these guys when i go off on hols - maybe worth giving the guy that owns it a call & ask him the do's & dont's when storing a car - The Guy's name is Mark Spiers and he's a very helpful chap
