paul_honthy Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 any ideas on how to fit a set of headlights on a classic?can't work out how to separate th headlight from the side light as its held together by 2 bolts that u can't seem to get to.any ideas??
colin_ross Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 IIRC there's just one screw holding the sidelight in place on the top of the headlight. Once you remove that you simply pull the sidelight forward. There's a popper holding it in too but it should come out without too much trouble. That'll let you at the bolts on the side of the headlight.
colinj Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Early Classics - Pre facelift Remove grill - it just pops out undo screw on top corner of sidelight, move it to the side or unclip. loosen 4 bolts (2at front, 2 at side) and remove headlamp Facelift model probably similar!!
paul_honthy Posted January 30, 2006 Author Posted January 30, 2006 its got an STI5 bonnet and grill, not sure what catagorie that falls into.
colin_ross Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Facelift classic, same as mine. Forgot about the grill to get to the other side headlight bolts. There's a couple of holes in the top of it, poke a thin screwdriver down to release the clips. Should be straight forward from there.
