ANDYJDMSTI Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 i may be up for a little overnighter if the car is back on the road by then. went a couple of years back and it was great
oobster Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I remember me and a few mates went up to this back in about 1995/1996. Absolutely great laugh, and we happened to be standing at a corner on a stage when an escort cossy went into the ditch. We all went to try to push it back out, but it wasn't for moving due to the angle it was at, so we started gathering rocks, branches etc to put under the car - i found a big boulder and ran back over to the car & threw it in the ditch - unfortunately I missed and managed to pan-in the nearside front headlight! Eventually got the cossy away, and the only damage to it was the smashed headlight. I can still remember the co-driver shouting and swearing at me from inside the car.
gus the bus Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Guys n Gals, If you are staying over on the Saturday night can I suggest the two Travel Lodges in Inverness if your looking for CHEAP. Stayed in both on previous visits and staying there on the 14th Jan. Very cheap deals just now ie £10 per room per night for some dates if booked for and paid @ booking. Travellodge Canny make the 18th myself unfortunately!!! Gus
derek_robertson Posted December 29, 2005 Author Posted December 29, 2005 Don't forget the gokarting on the sunday folks, don't think I'll make it to both. Rallying comes first for me. Del
Gee Wr1 Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Myself & Jacqui(Miss Scooby) will be going. Allways go to this, Probably the only motorsport event where we don't have a long drive to get to as it's on our doorstep Not sure if Jacqui's brother will have the car entered this year yet, fingers crossed As Gus mentioned there is a couple of Travel lodges but i would book quickly if you are planning there as this is where most of the rally crews stay & will be fully booked very quick. Most of the stages this year are North of Inverness, they are not going down the Loch Ness side this year so there will be less of a trek between stages.
derek_robertson Posted December 29, 2005 Author Posted December 29, 2005 Travellodge in Inverness offering family rooms at £26/night,these are usually £45/night. We're booked Del

Service (Dingwall mart) 2. Rogie by Contin Service (DM) 3.Tarlogie on the Struie past Ardross. 4. Not sure of name of forest but it's behind Kildary. Service (DM) 5. Gee Wr1 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 1st car at stage 1 is 10:10. Not been anywhere near town to get a program yet but do now know this is start time for SS1. Depends when you get up but scruitenering(sp) is at Arnold Clark Peugeot on Henderson road from 5-9:30 open to public. You'll get a program here or at the Thistle Hotel. Looks like Jacqui's brother Craig might be doing it as a late entry if the car passes mot test in the morn. So look out for the yellow mk 1 sierra(with Metro 6r4 clubman engine & scoob running gear[]) at the back of the pack. There's another yellow mk1 but it'll be in the printed entry list. We'll be about in the Wr1.
zeolite Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 "with Metro 6r4 clubman engine & scoob running gear" You what? More details and pics please. Dying to see how you install a mid engine engine in a front engine layout transmission.
