NightOwl Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I managed to balance a fully loaded 44 tonne artic on only it's n/s wheels. Unfortunately this only lasted a few seconds before I went all the way over. Pictured at the recovery yard in Perth. The load's still sitting in a field in the middle of Fife!
WUZ Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Tripped 3100m of pipe, changed a bit, tripped the 3100m of pipe back in and drilled 40m. Then finished shift, got showered, had a feed, got on a chopper, landed at an Indian Air Force Airbase, caught a taxi to the hotel, had 3 beers, got on the computer.........VOILA! Not a bad days work you'll agree! Russell (KNACKERED!)

dougster Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 ........about 400 miles without incident!! Was it the wind that chucked you over Brian? Shame as it looks like a nice Actros unit.

scoobykev Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 << Just up from the Parbroath crossroads, heading towards Fernie Castle Hotel. >> You made it onto the radio 2 traffic report this morning. I fitted 35m2 of laminate flooring, cut 2 doors and fitted some plinth.
jcscoob Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 Thats a fine mess u made I was working with some real nice stuff today, larch and lead. I linned the cheeks of a dormer in larch then done all the flashings in lead, finished about 4ish a happy joiner !!
NightOwl Posted November 11, 2005 Author Posted November 11, 2005 Big chat with the 'big boss' this afternoon, and I'm off work (with pay) until his 'investigation' is done. Seemed quite happy with my explanation of a gust of wind catching the front of the unit and the n/s front touching the verge and dragging me in. Definitely has to be the strangest phone call I've ever made when I phoned the boss, still strapped in the seat at an angle of 90 degrees. Taking the seatbelt off was fun! If only Subaru made trucks...
zeolite Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 You had better not drive my old wagon like that!
NightOwl Posted November 11, 2005 Author Posted November 11, 2005 LOL! Never! Much much respect to T45.

Did you spill owt yersel??? As long as you are OK and your boss understands is all that matters. People don't realise we are driving mobile kites in high winds!! Best of luck.
