wrxmania Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 I paid 101.9 yesterday for Optimax. Terrible, but you can't put a price on enjoyment. Brian
st3ph3n Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 << I paid 101.9 yesterday for Optimax. Terrible, but you can't put a price on enjoyment. Brian >> I think you can Brian. And that price is 101.9! I need to take mine for a drink at shell Kincardine bridge on the way home. Here's hoping it's not reached those prices yet.
ian_finlayson Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Spoke to my Mum in Lewis yesterday, £101.9 for normal unleaded. Now we know why most of the petrol stations got new pumps this year. To allow 3 figure prices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dave_morgan Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Paid 101.9 for Optimax at the Forth Road Bridge last night !! Was hoping to make it back into Edinburgh where it may have been slightly cheaper, but the light came on somewhere in Fife so didn't want to risk it. Also spotted it was 99.9 for normal unleaded in Grantown on Spey on Sunday. Shocking !! I think I'll import a Viper and convert it to LPG. You may only get 10mpg, but at least the 'g' is a lot cheaper and even if you lose a few lb/ft of torque, there's plenty left to play with !! Dave
dave_morgan Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 But as Brian says - relatively cheap entertainment really. If it costs an extra tenner a week on Petrol with all the increases - that equals £500 per year. Not really that much when you compare it to the other costs of living these days. You probably lose 10 times that on depreciation if you buy a new sub Dave
Johnny50 Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Eek ! Thats expensive. I filled up with Optimax lastnight next to Saughton prison... 93.something...

imprezapete Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 hate to say it people but prices will raise in the next 3-7 days as there is reports everywhere at the moment of more raises planned. Thinking of filling up tonight.
dave_morgan Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Were there not something like 8 rigs taken out by the US storms?? Bound to have some knock-on effects I guess ! We should think oursleves lucky to have a roof over our heads though really !
imprezapete Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 50-60+ rigs and production plants as well , not good
dave_morgan Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Yikes, that's a lot !! Someone at work told me it was 8 or 10!! How many are there out there !!
sheep Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Stephen, petrol at kincardine (bowtrees) is now 99.9
dipsy Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 I was at the same Garage as JC scoob on Saturday 97.9 must of been away to change it the pump had 99.9 used half a tank going to Knockhill and back to Carnoustie .You put the fuel in and say bloody hell it cost me that much till you go for a blast and forget about it
andy Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 The question is, given that 80% of fuel revenue goes into Gordon Brown's pot of loot, how long before people say enough is enough and the protests start all over again. Going to happen sooner rather than later, I think.
imprezapete Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Update - 58 offshore oil platforms and drilling rigs have either been displaced or disabled Do you ever get the feeling things wont be the same again? the worlds heading for a grim future and it seem to be speeding up.
st3ph3n Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Sheep, 99.9 indeed. I'll be popping back in tomorrow night on the way home I think, get as much as I can whilst the going is bad and not terrible.
