I should explain that, with the aid of a real keyboard. I have a playstation portable, and the new software update for it gives you a web browser, so I thought I'd test it on here, and it works very nicely.

I need to get one of them psp's. Should I wait 'till September for an official UK one, or get a Jap one?

Problem with buying a new one is when the Uk version is released the UK games will be region coded. The UMD movies will be region free and play any any Jap, US or UK machine but it seems the games will be locked to region. There will no doubt be a third party bit of software available that will allow games from "other" regions to be played on any machine.

Posted this on my new teeth which i was surprised to find out came with a 56k dial up connection

squirrel, you're almost right there, but you have it the wrong way round.

UK and US games (I have some US games) will work on a Jap machine, and vice versa, but films will be region coded so as to only play in the region of the machine's origin.

I've had mine since April-ish, and it cost me £200-210 with Ridge Racers from Yes Asia. They're cheaper now though. I got mine from Yes Asia because they offer a free shipping service (which you really pay for in the cost of the goods), but it is gauranteed to be free of Import Tax etc. So you pay a wee bit more, but you really save on the customs fees.

If I was buying one now then I'd probably just buy the standard pack and not the value pack, and buy some accessories to go with it that were better than the value pack ones (you need a case to protect it). I've upgraded the memory stick to a 512mb one, so I can actually fit films on it. I watched the Incredibles on a flight to Copenhagen. It was great.

The screen is easily the best thing about it. So crisp and clear. Nothing can quite prepare you for just how good it looks.

I'll second Stephen on the quality and compatibilty of the PSP. Although i'm not that impressed with Ridge Racers.
