irish al Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Does anyone know anyone that has fitted a set of these mudflaps from ebay to thier car. Mudflaps on Ebay
scoobymadburd Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Hi Mate We have these mudflaps on our wagon and we bought them from Halfords for £30 for the set and £5 to get the WRX stickers made up and they look like just the same mudflaps to me. You get Sparco stickers in the mudflaps at halfords but you just throw them away or use them for something else here is a piccy for you. Claire
oobster Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 How about a set of the Scott Lowe ones? A bit more expensive, but they'd be my choice if i had some spare cash! Scott Lowe website
wrxmania Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Scott Lowe for me - they work the business and are WELL secured to the car. Brian
the squiggle Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 The cheap flaps tend to go to 90degrees when driven along thus defeating the actual design purpose. If you want flaps that look OK when sitting still or driving under 10mph then go for the cheap ones If you want your car to look good over 10 mph and stop spray being flung up from the wheels then go for the Scott Lowe or STI ones Grant
jamie_wood Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Get the genuine ones Well worth the 300 ish quid
WRC No 1 Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 i dont have the problem with mine cause i did not cut them into the shape of the bumper so there for the flaps stay the same shape apart from sitting at 000mph
ANDYJDMSTI Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 << Get the genuine ones Well worth the 300 ish quid >> could'nt agree more they dont flap about like spaniels ears in the wind like cheap ones do
wrxmania Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Here are a couple of (not ideal) pictures of mine - I need to take some new ones These were taken on my phone These are from Scott Lowe. Brian
the squiggle Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Next time you are driving about at any given speed over 000mph have a wee look at the angle of your flaps. Not having a dig at your flaps cause they suit the wagon well it is just the are a bit flexible in the stiffness dept compared with the £200 STI versions Grant
the squiggle Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 I keep on thinking they were originally £200 a pair for the STI ones Wilky did get a good stiff set off E-Bay recently which led to him passing on his original flaps to me for free. Grant
ANDYJDMSTI Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 << £200 STI ones?? Get me a set >> yeah me too!!!!!
the squiggle Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Aye you gonna fit them to Storm, to help out when he vaults the neighbours 5ft hedge. Grant
irish al Posted July 27, 2005 Author Posted July 27, 2005 Problem is I already bought a set of these and have been putting off fitting them as there is no pre drilled holes and no metal brackets. Have saw the ones in halfords and checked out the proper ones on peoples cars at knockhill on sunday so if you saw a strange bloke stareing at your mud flaps that was me. These ones are inbetween in stiffness and like WRC no 1 says I wont be cutting them to the shape of the bumper. This means they would be curved a little bit and should hold thier shape a bit better. If they look awful or dont do what they are ment to do I will splash the cash and get the other ones. Any help/advice on fitting or where I can get brackets would be much appreciated. Anyone who can fit these and make them look nice on my car and needs some cash just let me know :->
Iaing Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Swiggi bought some of the ones off e-bay, they look like the genuine article too!
Bing Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Al, The same company which you got them from also sells aluminium brackets You wont need them though - just install some self tappers and you shouldn't be dissapointed
Racing Snake Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Go for the Scott Lowe ones at least you know your going to get a quality product. Just fitted a set to mine and they look the dogs
st3ph3n Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 I've got no complaints with my Scott Lowe ones. Seeing an Impreza without a set on just doesn't look right to me. Just received my Wing and Splitter from Scott too. Top bloke.
