micra_wrc Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 the micra is nearing her last miles so got myself a wee Subaru Justy. 13i 4WD, metalic aqua 5 door that does 60 mpg ! Not bad petrol consumption for a Subaru, eh? Needs new brake pads and some bits and pieces but have myself a handy mechanic to do the repairs Squirrel is already talking about new alloys for her! wonder if he'll try putting a turbo in it LOL Pics below. Imy
the squiggle Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 Always told you i would buy you a Subaru one day.......... £15 in petrol all the way from Middlesborough to Glasgow now there is not many Scoobs out there than can achieve that. Price wise my PowerFC cost more so cant complain as all the electrics and mechanicals are sound. Just needs a wee touch up here and there to bring her up to scratch. It would be the fastest Scoob in the universe with an import WRX engine strapped into a Justy. Grant
imprezapete Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 God what would the power to weight ratio be in that
ScoobyAndy Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 cool nice little change for you << God what would the power to weight ratio be in that >> FRIGHTENING whens grant trying it??
IanJ Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 new car Imy. Just don't let Grant go too mental on it I do seem to remember an STI conversion done on one of these in the US though.....
Don Mega Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Congrats Imy, good to hear you've went subaru Dennis.
the squiggle Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Just imagine the engine from Andy F's car squeezed into a 800kg Justy. About 2 grand in fabrication making the track wider and enlarging the bell housing About 3 grand for a WRX to donate the engine, gearbox, loom, diff, etc Some custom engineering of the propshafts A new fuel cell in the boot Roll cage Massive Brakes I know what when my car comes to the end of its natural life i will combine the 2 into 1 Super Subaru "We choose to go to the moon"......JFK.........and this is the car that will take us there Finding out that parts for the wee car are not to bad price wise. Spark plugs .................................£10 for 4 Front Brake Pads.........................£13 STI sticker for the rear.................£5 Grant
johnnyr6 Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 STI sticker on the back!....CLASS!! R U taking a leaf out of satans book??
Johnny50 Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Excellent Imy. Look forward to you leading the pack at the next run then.
Gumball Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Wee Imy many happy returns, congratulations on your new subaru. I hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoy mine. Im sure you will. No doubt see you drifting it round roundabouts in the Govan area shortly dont let Grant into the engine bay with a 4 1/2" grinder though
micra_wrc Posted July 25, 2005 Author Posted July 25, 2005 PMSL, I dont think so Johnny50. the Justy is my run around/getting to the shops and back Squirrel's red rocket is the one we'll use for the runs....... why do you think he is feverently modding the classic at the mo?? gumball, i've never driven a 4WD so may well be trying the drifting thing As if I'd let grant anywhere near the engine bay with a hammer! He's to repair only, not modify Imy
oobster Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Is there a SJDC then? If not, you could look to start one Imy!!
zeolite Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 Is the Justy not just a rebadged Suzuki? If so then a Swift gti engine will get 150bhp with the right tweeks. Lot of BHP in a little car.
