After some burst knuckles and a Basil Fawlty moment, i got a big fat man to remove my turbo.

The IHI VF28 turbo from the devils own car now resides under my bonnet, IMHO probably the finest sounding turbo in the world. All praise the devil who plays the huge turbo and intercooler game.......face-icon-small-wink.gif

Next on the list is a spot of fitting the big intercooler into a hole it was not designed for. Fortunatly i know of a man called Dave that has done this trick before and has offered his services for the cost of a HKS FCD.

After that it is fit the Power FC and Commander then have a go at blowing the ar*e end out of the car with some completely amatuer ECU mapping......face-icon-small-smile.gif

So once all the above is fitted and running the old parts will be up for sale to the peeps that have expressed an interest.

Also got a set of Black electric mirrors off of Ebay for £10..........face-icon-small-smile.gif

Mods purchased this month.

Apexi Power FC and Commander.

IHI VF28 roller bearing turbo.

STI Type-R intercooler.

Mocal oil cooler.

Dremel to port the headers.

A few Greddy guages for EGT and water temp.

AVCR Electronic boost control.

Apexi pseudo wideband AFR/turbo timer.

Wilky's old flaps.

New teeth for me, custom made by Prodrive to WRC spec.

4 new spare coilpacks.

Mods that are planned....................

Further lighten the car.

Bigger injectors.

PC fans onto the bottom of the intercooler.

Refit the Kenwood TV and PS2.

HKS CAMP unit that will display all the engine info onto the the TV screen.

Might look like a bag of sh*te but by christ it will go...................face-icon-small-smile.gif

Thanks Imy for being an understanding girlfriend

Glad to hear it's in Grant, now I can tell you the bad news.

Unfortunately the whine from that turbo means you have to drive everywhere in 2nd gear and getting more than 100 miles from a tank will be a distant memory soon. Also, everyone will tell you it sounds gubbed.

Please treat her with the respect she deserves and cane the flurkin ar$e off her at every opertunity.

It just sounds awesome tickling about the place. Even Davie Downstairs, a right fussy booger, commented on it when i blipped the throttle, switched it off and the turbo spun on for about 10 secs

It is good to know my old TD05 is going on to bigger and better things.

Ahh, the modification buzz, those endorphins of joy being slowly realeased due to the satisfaction felt, the knowledge high power will soon be within your grasp. The devil, doing the next step in turbo upgrade, hopeing his type r box will take the strain and the notchie gearshift is only a bent selector fork. Remaps, injectors, fuel pressure and torque. Charge temp knock and ignition advance, ahhhh how I miss it.......................enjoy it while there is a lull in the battle troops, enjoy it while you can. For I have a cunning plan...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

See in the autumn when the air is cool and the roads still dry.................................................................

(Evil cloak drawn over eyes) Moia ha! Moia hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Spot on Wilky, I'm getting a bit excitable now the bits have started to arrive. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, shiney.

As for the gearbox, if it last another season then that'll do me as I'll be looking to uprate it when funds allow. Dog box anyone? Until then I'll be gentle with it and use it as an excuse if you ever manage to beat me on the strip.

Well thats the turbo fitted and how good does it sound. I have to say frankly it is erection material the noise it emits. Spent the whole day trying to fit a Type R intercooler into a hole that it was not designed for. So a wee touch of the Grinder and a big fook off hammer and it is there and with the majority of my skin still on my body.

It actually looks as if it is meant to be there
