Yeah - I know where you're at...

Thanks to you and the other corteous drivers who pulled over to let us buy when appropriate too - there were a couple of myopic drivers on the single track roads who didn't notice 35 Scoobies behind them for a couple of miles lol!

I had a great drive up behind S666OOB - his car sounds Superb - meant I couldn't hear your TVR, though! (I assume yours is the yellow Chimera?)

Cheers face-icon-small-smile.gif

<< Nice face-icon-small-cool.gif The guy in the Yellow one was driving quite nervously for some reason after the first shower made the roads like slime face-icon-small-wink.gif >>

Tell me about it - definitely a day whan 4 wheel drive would have been a little better than a V8 to the rear wheels in 2" of standing water... face-icon-small-shocked.gif

Hi guys,

Sorry, don't mean to be a downer here, but the driving standard was not all good.

I was one of the TVR drivers you passed going up to Blairgowrie, and again past Bridge of Cally.

I have no problem with the speeds on the road, and no problem with most of the overtaking, but three

of the overtakes past me (quite apart from anyone else) were into blind corners, or blind crests.

1. Just after the Meikleour hedge, overtake on a restricted view left hander, on double whites in the middle of the road.

2. Past Bridge of Cally, one Scooby past me, another TVR, caravan, and back in a little before a blind bend. Fine.

Second Scooby followed through, and back onto left side of road at the bend. No margin.

3. Worst of the lot. Scooby out from behind one TVR, past it, past me, fine, I lifted to leave a gap before the caravan

I was behind. Scooby ignored gap and overtook the caravan over a blind crest. Zero visibility.

And some of the other guys had a few similar observations.

Go for a hoon by all means, but leave out the suicidal antics - I'd rather the police didn't have the excuse to start taking even more interest in performance car outings.

Glad you enjoyed the day out though - we only did the 350 miles.

(This is not meant to start a flame war, just an observation by a 'keen' road driver - so you can imagine the views of any grannies you were passing).

Im sorry to hear about the poor driving skills.

I was the very first car that passed you about 5-10 minutes ahead of the rest and remember doing so safely, as no doubt people would argue. What i would like to say having no guilty consience about any overtaking yesterday is this

IF ANYONE WHO DRIVES A SCOOBY GETS GUMBALLED AND CANT DRY THEIR EYES ABOUT GETTING BEATEN THEN IT MAY BE TIME FOR THEM TO RETIRE. ITS A BIT REDICULOUS COMMENTING ON MY LINES FROM 500 METRES TO THE REAR.

IF THAT WAS THE CASE THEN YOU COULD TELL ME TO TURN LEFT OR RIGHT AS YOU SAW IT!!! DO YOU THINK THAT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA? OR DO YOU THINK I HAVE AN OVERWHELMING AMBITION TO WRITE OFF MY STI AND SOMEONES HUSBAND????????/// GROW UP

Well, when my "4wd Rally Car" drove through a puddle on the road later in the day it broke down face-icon-small-blush.gif

Thanks to Steve (I think) for coming to check all was OK. I drove back home, avoiding the clowds, via Aberdeen, so missed the later police mellarky, luckily...

I used to have a gorgeous Scoob Mk1 5dr so was liking those on the run - although would have a Chim450 in the other garage for sunny days face-icon-small-cool.gif

Yup, I think it was you - blue Scooby with yellow text across the bonnet?

Actually your overtake I'll agree was not blind (a little retricted, perhaps), and given todays climate I don't necessarily agree with placement of double-whites, and you did get by pretty smartly, so I'll cede the benefit of the doubt...

The other two were definitely blind and no margin.

One last thing, my ears were SCREWED last night. When I went to bed my tinnitus was really loud and I could hear scoobs accelerating in my head. How's that for weird face-icon-small-smile.gif

I might need to tone my car down a bit... or buy ear plugs.

good day out, well organised as usual. the only problem is the front of the car (paintwork) looks as if its been through a sandstorm.

had to leave earlier than we thought as time was marching on and had to get home for our boys it was my first Scooby run and well it was ehh interesting face-icon-small-tongue.gif

not sure what it was either the fact we are mainly mini peeps and used to those type of runs or maybe the weather but boy you guys are nutters

face-icon-small-tongue.gif.

Think it might have been the need for speed which came as a wee bit of a shock maybe once we get more used to how the scooby handles and better brakes we will be able to join in more.

Next time can we have a old codgers section just for usface-icon-small-wink.gif

<< Who are you to come onto the SIDC forum and pass comment like you are the road god?

Dont want to start a war? Why post on a Subaru forum if you dont want to start aggro?

>>

It's a better man who walks away from a fight than the one who walks into one. To go on such a vitriolic offensive suggests you are one of the offenders the poster was talking about. I followed this thread with great interest, loved the photos, the feedback and was tempted to join the next one, but I won't do so now. It seemed like fun, but you've brought it down to a scrap even though most took the guy's thoughts on board. That's not my idea of fun.

Think i'm just recovered now from yesterday! face-icon-small-happy.gif

Had an EXCELLENT day out - MASSIVE thanks to Grant, Imy, and Andy for organising such a good event and finding those fab roads face-icon-small-happy.gif

Must have been a lot of work put into it on your end - and was well worth it for us lot. Cheers folks.

<< ...best £50 quid i ever spent >>

face-icon-small-shocked.gif How come Mr Scooby went through 2 petrol stops of £47 and £46 (1/4 tank left at end of day), 1 bottle of NF Octane Booster, and 315 miles then??? face-icon-small-shocked.gifface-icon-small-wink.gif

<< TOBY69 " I seen at a guess about 30 scoobs between Grantown and Cromdale Around the 3 o clock time, Only car I could put a name to was Miss scooby. I was going the other way on the bike getting wet!!!" >>

Hi Toby69. How's the bike going? See u've still got the Golden Wheels pics as ur avatar - that was one nice scoob face-icon-small-happy.gif Glad i was nice and dry in my car yesterday, lol. I saw the bikes coming the other way, and thought glad that aint me getting wet!

<< THE SQUIRREL "Funny bit with the fat lazy pidgeon at Tomintoul, so fat it could not fly with a Type-R ready to flatten it" >>

pmsl. Tell me about it. Stopped waiting for it to cross the road...and everybody started to pass me as the pigeon did it best at a stare-out contest! Pulled out and past it - hope no-one hit it face-icon-small-frown.gif

<< THE SQUIRREL "Good bit of grub at Perth with Jacqui and Gee WR1, pleasure to meet you Gee and fine brief you have there, and thanks to Jacqui's brother for helping his sister get to the "ball" " >>

Thanks for inviting us Grant & Imy. Good break b4 heading home, and good munchies...oh and the company was also good too lol! Mmmnnn, Banoffi pie, yum yum face-icon-small-wink.gif

lol at getting to the "ball" . yep indeedy folks, my brother arrived at my door at around 6.30am with 2 of his mates, having not yet been to bed, asking "do ya want the turbo done then?!". Car was returned by 9.45 am, with my new turbo fitted face-icon-small-happy.gifface-icon-small-happy.gifface-icon-small-happy.gif, all fluids/tyre pressures etc done too, and the job's a good un face-icon-small-happy.gifface-icon-small-happy.gifface-icon-small-happy.gif Anyone who was behind me thru the Lecht yesterday will know how good the car was running face-icon-small-happy.gifface-icon-small-wink.gif Considering the car's been locked in the garage for 5 months, and then had a broken turbo on Thursday night - it was a freggin miracle the car and I made it! He's had today to recover...and tomorrow night i'm off to Knockhill for the Ladies Track Night face-icon-small-happy.gif Poor Car!

Not sure if i can afford the labour costs from sunday morning tho...total labour cost for 3 mechanics working on the car & fitting new turbo = 3 cooked breakfasts face-icon-small-happy.gifface-icon-small-shocked.gifface-icon-small-happy.gifface-icon-small-tongue.gif

btw, who was it that had the silver 02 WRX. Was pmsl at when we all stopped at craithie after the "spirited" run over the Lecht (i was car 4, they were 5), and you said we were insane and unhinged ....you's werent that far behind us 4 lol!

hi again guys. i agree with whats being said now by both parties but id rather not see it poring into the thread and spoiling what was a good day.

Wilky m8 remember what u pm'd me with!

peter and anyone else mentioning anything bout different driving.. please watch how you mention it u never know whos spying.

chris from what i saw (admitedly) from behind you you were taking very good lines and doing some amazing driving alot could be learned from watching you tho since i dont make a gd passenger i'll leave the observing from the drivers seat behind you.
