Guest Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 never heard of them but had not heard of half of the companies who employed my fellow trainees!
Carl Davey Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 You have heard of them. They sell petrochemicals with green and yellow labels on... think about it. I was the same when i first went offshore, took me a while to get up to speed. It's good fun though, you'll enjoy it.
evojkp Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 Petrofac are the operating company for Pallidan Oil. They 'bought' the operating and investment interest in the Montrose Alpha and the Arbroath Satellite platforms, along with the Arkwright sub sea unit. I used to work on those assets a long time ago, with Amoco, then bp.I went back out there a couple of years ago to help with a few issues prior to the hand-off to pallidan. It has seriously went down hill since then. I still know a few off the guys on them, but watch out as they are all tossers !!!!!!
evojkp Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 << Beyond Petroleum... >> <spit the dog impersonation > bp tossers
WUZ Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 Judging by the state they left the Forties when they sold it to Apache (the Echo is a S***hole!) then I can see how eveyone says it has all gone downhill! Russell
peter_macgowan Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 Carl Im with Beyond Petroleum *cough*.til April 1st anyway. Then whos knows what they will be called Are you based offshore ?
zeolite Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 WUZ....can't be any worse than Apache! I was on the first Forties Echo well. Got run off too thank goodness!. Only thing is we got the contract back!. Noooooooooo
robinh20mrv Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 canadian national resource is indeed the name! i have done a few bit of inspection work for them, i did not have any problems, but then again i am a rov contractor who just comes and goes though i am thinking fo going back to north sea work as tania might get a touch miffed if i go off to singapore/U.A.E/mexico ect for 3 months at a time!!! fecking cold out there though
Carl Davey Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 PMSL @ John. I take it you're at the Refinery too then Spince? Aye, i'm offshore. On Miller at the moment where the POB is primarily made up of tumbleweeds. Then Bruce in July for the foreseeable future which should be a little more interesting.
CAZ1562 Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 CNR took over ownership of Balmoral & T/Block (Tiffany) from AGIP in 2004. Here's a handy link I found showing platform outputs on oil & gas.
Guest Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 cheers caz1562. been a student for the last 3 years so at least working and getting a bit of money will be good. will let u all know where i end up! anyone know 4 definate which rigs petrofac operate on? also wondering what does the average time served tiffy get paid?
Infiltrator Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 Petrofac are traditionally an engineering support company although they're getting into Ops as they've been brought in by Lundin to operate Heather and North West Hutton. If your post is something to do with CNR (Canadian Natural Resources) then I'd guess you'll be headed for Ninian South or Central - CNR operate them but Petrofac provide the engineering support (poss maintenance as well). Workmate of mine's other half works for Petrofac - no complaints. He's doing some shutdown pre-works for Ninian S or Central, big shutdown April time. Another green and yellow bod....
