Sounds like your disc are F*%Ked!!. Sometimes it can be dirt stuck between the pads and the discs. Clean your brakes with some brake cleaner, failing that, your disc's will be warped. Got the same problem with mine just now. Nightmare face-icon-small-sad.gif

Balancing is done on the wheels themselves and is done with the wheels off the car. This alows the wheels to spin without any wabble (equal weight distribution) this usually causes a vibration through the steering wheel, mainly noticable at medium to high speeds, depending on how badly they are ballanced. I think most garages use static balancing. Tracking is the allignment your wheels make when on your car. There is alot to tracking a car and this is a specialist job. Bad tracking will cause your tyres to wear unevenly and possibly cause your car to pull heavily to one side of the road. In simple terms!! face-icon-small-smile.gif

Hope that helps face-icon-small-happy.gif

I have cracked 3 sets of discs (one includes a set of TAR-OX who wouldn't listen to a claim).

First sign of judder indicates a cracked or warped disc for sure!! face-icon-small-sad.gif

I could source you a used set if you PM me.

cheers for all your replys but the discs i have on now are 2nd hand ones beacuse i warped the previous ones so bad that the judder may have disturbed the balancing and they juddered at every speed so much so the pedals, wing mirrors, and steering were all flapping around!

opinions?

cheers

What pads and discs are you running?

True warping on discs isn't that common unless you use cheap ones that can't handle heat. Most brake judder is uneven build-up of pad deposits. Making sure you don't rest your foot on the brakes after hard use will help stop and pad imprints on the disc causing more juddering.

You can give them a severe thrashing to try cleaning them or some light sanding with wet 'n dry can scrub off pad material from the discs.

Only real way of knowing if the discs are warped is to have them measured.

Worth checking if the contact area between disc->wheel hub and alloy->disc is clean as this could cause the disc to sit out of line in the caliper.

Mickey - you are more likely to be getting this if they are grooved and drilled. I have just changed back to plain disks due to this problem and it was cured by the change.

Keep a look out for meets in Dundee if you are local mate . . .

Its also worth checking the pistons in the calipers are moving freely and evenly when you replace the disks.

Sticking calipers will warp discs relatively quickly- certainly did on mine anyway.

yeah i did have a sticky caliper it seems as if this problem has returned, how much do you think for a repalcement 2 pot front caliper anyone?

They were in great condition Mickey can't remember how many miles they had covered. Personally I thought £75 was a bargain face-icon-small-smile.gif
