Yes,

and thanks for volunteering your car to be on display face-icon-small-happy.gif

Actually, we are looking for a few more cars, so if anyone is interested in putting their car on display (you get free entry tickets to the event), then please either post up here, or send me an e-mail please face-icon-small-smile.gif

It's an event at the AECC in Aberdeen on Sunday 17th October. It's like a proper motor show, execpt that the exhibits are made up of classic cars, modern sports cars, plus a few from dealers etc.

Theres things like skid car training available on the day (last year it was free!!).

Last year over 5,000 people visited the show.

You can get your cars into the site (it's under cover) on the Saturday (recommended), where you can polish/clean to your heart's content, and not have to worry about driving early on the Sunday morning (especially if you have been on the beers the night before face-icon-small-wink.gif)

Each person putting their car on display gets two free entry tickets (worth £5 each).

Last year we attracted a big crowd at times, wathing videos of Imprezas being driven around tracks/Nurburgring etc.

Cars must be in the arena no later than 9am on the Sunday morning (leaving the car on the Saturday afternoon is recommended - there is more than adequate security in place), and you'll be there until baout 4:30/5pm.

It's normally a great day out, with enough to see and do for most car enthusiasts.

Sadly, I'll be out of the country on the day, but have arranged our stand in advance for up to 8 cars, and I'm sure that Ken/Marc/Sarah etc can cope with the set-up on the Saturday/Sunday face-icon-small-happy.gif

I can lend a hand on the Saturday, but however Sunday is my 1st wedding aniversary and hence I can't make it. Would offer my car, but Audi A3 turbodiesels aren't that interesting (well not to look at but with 140bhp and Impreza rivalling torque, it's entertaining enough to drive) face-icon-small-wink.gif

I will be racing in the dirt at Errol that weekend but FYI chaps ADMC are also staging an autotest in the car park. Now that is fun but not in a scoob!

Our car is available for the display and a friend of mine who has just joined SIDC would like his car on the stand aswell, so that is another 2.

How many have we got now??

How many do we need on the stand??

John, do you need anyhelp in getting this organised??

Sarah,

we have so far:

youself, Ken, Marc, your friend, Rob D (if someone can collect the car ?), Jools (Ken perhaps collecting the car).

I asked for 8 spaces, but 6 would be fine face-icon-small-happy.gif

I will indeed need assistance in organising this one, as I'll not be in the country when it takes place!! Many thanks for volunteering. I'm sure that between yourself and Ken you can sort things out face-icon-small-happy.gif

Cheers

Sarah, I'll try and get the car in on Saturday, weather depending. I checked the 5 day forecast and Saturday it's raining and Sunday is sunny. So fingers crossed there will be enough of a dry spell on Saturday to get them in. Do we know how gig a space we have etc.

Last Call for Cars.

So far we have 6 cars:-

John/Sarah - Black Classic

Graham - Green Classic

Mark - Blue 03

Marc - Silver Type R

Stuart - Black 03 (02 ?)

Me - Blue Classic

Would be great to have a 5 door and/or a 22B on the stand face-icon-small-wink.gif

I'm taking along a TV/Video. But also will take a multimedia projector along to try out, not sure how that will work, but worth a try.

Also have a some SIDC hates/fleeces/t-shirts etc to sale and info leaflets to hand out.
