Scoobynet link - Simon needs your sensible suggestions please

Hello all,

Can you please follow the link above and contribute to the discussion on Scoobynet. Simon has asked for SENSIBLE points on the way forward for the Scoland section on Scoobynet - this should allow us to contribute to a genuine discussion on the future.

Simon has asked for reasoned points to be posted up by Wednesday as he will be sorting through them all then.

PLEASE contribute sensibly - I'd like to get my £25 worth from the forums. Simon did say, and I quote:

"As promised, once time allows, we will look into the solution for the scotland forum.

I am returning from Japan on Tuesday and will be back in action on wednesday so hope to have an hour or so to talk this all through.

We want to hear from you what you want.

IMPORTANT :

The replies that will be taken into account will automatically be the ones that show balance. Anything that simply says "this is the way it should be and it's blindingly obvious - there is no alternative" will show us instantly that the person is not able to show reason or understanding for the potential complexities.

Anything posted that is not an attempt to assist this conversation will be ignored or deleted, and anything posted in response to any of these posts will also be deleted.

--

Please be very clear. We are not interested in the views of the loud mouths. We are interested in the genuine community members, who just want the best place for us all.

We (and I particularly) REALLY want this to work. The measures we had to put in place were a for a long drawn out combination of reasons and events.

Apologies (to the genuine members - who are mostly those who didn't start shouting and insulting) for any upset. I hope you will support us in return by offering your advice and ideas.

How do you want it all to work?"

Thanks and get posting,

I was going to post some thoughts about this and then I thought "why bother" I posted enough on SN and got no acknowledgement whatsoever. We were welcomed in here and Phil has bent over backwards to welcome us (and that includes non-SIDC members). So I am not going to bother.

Frankly I don't think anyone else should either and IMHO I don't think we should be discussing SN's problems here. If you want to comment then go to SN. I won't be!

I had typed out a reply to this but scrubbed it, as it's not worth talking about on SIDC as this bbs should not be dragged down with SN politics. Although terms like 'loudmouths, ignored, deleted' smack of dictatorship. It's my ball and I'm going home.

I may be wrong, but hey I don't even own a Scooby as has been pointed out. face-icon-small-tongue.gif

I see where your coming from Brian but i've got to agree with the other guys, we have been welcomed here and it seems to be working fine so i dont see the point in going back over, especially not to the scottish section when we've got everything we need here. They are only trying to do something about it now that they see everyone has left, it may have been a better idea to deal with it in a sensible way and not dictating before we left and it may not have come to this. face-icon-small-confused.gif

Looks to me that Webby is having a dig at the GOOD few that helped make the change

Scotland SN is gone & will no longer be what it was

All i can say is thanks Phil for giving us what we wanted

Cheers

Agree with all the points above - only posting here as some may want to contribute.

If you read my reply on the link you will see my thoughts and also that I cite SIDC and Phil as a reference for good practice.

Here to stay - as has been said before, We have been made to feel more welcome here in the past week or two than I can ever remember over in the ghost town.

Webby has obviously now realised he is missing us - Too little too late ???

I agree. It's a bit like when your insurance renewal comes in -

Your insurance renewal : £700

Insurance quote from another company : £600

Re-quote from your own company when you tell them you're going to cancel : £600

Statement I usually use to my ex insurance company: "Sorry, if you'd give me that quote in the first place you'd still have my business - Goodbye !!"

I'm happy here !

Dave, I like the analogy with insuarance. Add to that the fact that this rumbled on "over the road" for several weeks. There appeared to be no urgency just heavy handed modding until the 58 walked.

Im staying put , and thanks to the SIDC for putting us up!
